Talking About it Tuesday # 66

It's that time of the spring when I'm thinking it might be necessary to build an ark. We have had so much rain since the end of March! Thankfully I haven't heard any rumblings of flooding so I guess we probably needed it. Though I miss the sun, I mostly miss the warmth as all this rain has been joined by cold temperatures and lots of wind. Here's hoping spring arrives soon! How's your weather been treating you?

    We went through a period of SO MUCH RAIN not long ago. We've actually had sunny skies about every other day for the past week. It was nothing short of amazing! I hope your weather turns soon (I wouldn't say that ours has turned, per se, but surely we're done with six or seven straight days of rain!). Thanks for the link up!

    I keep hearing how the east coast is getting hammered by wind and rain. I hope it ends soon, as were headed your direction after Easter. It's just been cold here. Everything is behind compared to previous years. We are looking forward to warmer weather. Thanks for the party.

    The weather has been terribly cold here. This week it is warming up a little bit. I can't lie that I do like being able to snuggle under my blanket at night and read. We do need some warmer and sunnier weather, though.

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Movies like Mom's Night Out, Christmas Vacation, and Grown Ups make me laugh out loud. 7.  When my ...

Share Our Lives: How I Spend My Free Time

This month for Share Our lives we're sharing how we enjoy spending our free time and what creative outlets we use to have a bit of fun. With all older teens and young adults in the house I have lots and lots of free time.  I have so many creative outlets that I'm not sure I could even remember them all.    My top 5 include: card making   scrapbooking   painting:     I also love to put together puzzles:       I spend a lot of my free time reading (I even listen to audiobooks while making cards, scrapbooking or putting together puzzles).    I hope you'll join us next month when we all share how we celebrate/spend our birthdays! Last Care Package of Freshman Year-- This Time for Easter

I wanted to send Alec one last care package. He didn't plan to come home at all this month and I thought I'd send him a little Easter treat. However, he is coming home for the summer in just few weeks so this time I just stuck to 3 food items (I also sent his package off early this week so he'd have plenty of time to eat and enjoy). The card I made for him   We bought him his favorite chocolate bunny, a bag of snack mix, and some microwave popcorn. I found these printable "just popping by" Easter sayings that I taped to the bags of popcorn. Our Most Recent Trip to Mystic Aquarium

Evan had spring break at the end of March and we decided to head to Mystic Aquarium one day for a fun outing. He was excited about taking photos of the marine life and brought along my big camera with both lenses. I used my cell phone and between the two of us we got some really great photos.  We managed to see the entire aquarium as well as the sea lion show in just about an hour so I'm not sure it was really worth the hour+ drive to get there but we did have fun. Gosh, I can remember when we used to spend ALL day at the aquarium!  It was crowded and there were some school groups there but they've also taken away several of the smaller exhibits and some areas were closed for refurbishment. It was still fun though.
