Our Most Recent Trip to Mystic Aquarium

Evan had spring break at the end of March and we decided to head to Mystic Aquarium one day for a fun outing. He was excited about taking photos of the marine life and brought along my big camera with both lenses. I used my cell phone and between the two of us we got some really great photos.

We managed to see the entire aquarium as well as the sea lion show in just about an hour so I'm not sure it was really worth the hour+ drive to get there but we did have fun. Gosh, I can remember when we used to spend ALL day at the aquarium!

It was crowded and there were some school groups there but they've also taken away several of the smaller exhibits and some areas were closed for refurbishment. It was still fun though.

  6. I love the seaport town of Mystic. I've never been to the aquarium there. We took our grandkids to the Chattanooga Aquarium last week and I think it's the best one I've been to. So well done! I feel like Aquariums are always pretty crowded. We got there right as it opened so were ahead of some of the school groups.

That is a long drive but I always think it's worth it if you have a fun time and time spent together like that is priceless, right?

    1. It definitely is. And weirdly for us, an hour is kind of a standard drive to do something "fun" that isn't a hike. My goal is to spend more time at the activity then on the road and then I at least feel like the drive was worth it.
