Currently in April 2025

It's the first Wednesday of the month and time for April's edition of currently. This month we'll talk about what we're currently loving, adding to cart, reading, watching, and listening to.

Loving: We went on some really beautiful walks; we've had lots of rain so the rivers are nice and full and give off that great gurgling sound that I love. It's also been *almost* warm enough for flip flops (I wore them even though my toes were a bit cold and wet!). And I just LOVE that!

Adding to my cart: Nothing but only because I just placed an order through Land's End. I bought a fleece lined sweatshirt (men's because they don't seem to make them in women's sizes!), a long sleeved athletic jacket, and off the shoulder gauze top. I also bought a few spring items from Lily Putlizer that I'm waiting to come in... so I really need to not be adding anything to my cart any time soon! But we do have a few high school graduations in our extended family so I am thinking of grad gift ideas already!

Reading: I'm actually currently reading and listening to a stack of books. While I usually have 2-3 books going I just happened to have a lot of my holds come in from the library at the same time that I had already started 1 or 2 from my stack at home so I'm juggling a lot of them right now--

Beg, Borrow, or Steal by Sarah Adams

Madly, Deeply the diaries of Alan Rickman,

Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins

 Unlikely Story by Ali Rosen

Watching: We're watching The Pitt, AP Bio (Have you seen this? It's hilarious!), The White Lotus season 3, and I am nearly done with Army Wives.

Listening to: I always have an audiobook going; I just finished up The Girls of August and started And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie.

  1. I get as excited to ditch my socks as you get about wearing flip flops. Sadly, we're not quite at that weather here yet. Freezing rain is expected today :(

  2. LOVING AP Bio- so so funny! Yes :)

  3. Spring hikes are the best due to water flowing more abundantly! Though I like to wait until later spring when the trees have started to green up a little bit.

    1. Yeah I much prefer our hikes when things start getting greener too; though by then I'm usually sneezing like crazy.

    1. I saw the main character on Celebrity Jeopardy and decided to give it a try; he's an awful teacher but it's hilarious. The whole staff are so over the top weird and crazy that while I am rolling my eyes at how that would never fly in a school I can't help but laugh.

  6. Watching AP Bio with my kids but we always start it too late and I drift off. Ain't no tired like end of year teacher tired! Ha! It's so funny, though! Your books look good and I think I have a couple on my request list.

  10. I wore my sandals to get my nails done on Saturday, but yes a little chilly yet! I haven't ready any of the Hunger Games books but love all of the movies. I wonder if they will make another prequel based on the book you read this month.

    1. I am loving it! Not only is Haymitch's turn in the games rather gripping but so many familiar names and faces are popping back up and giving us an inside view to "more" of some of the old outlying characters.

  12. Oh, I love Agatha so much! Got hooked on her when I was a teenager and devoured every book of hers I could find. Even translated "The Man in the Brown Suit" when at uni.

    1. I had to stop listening to the audio version as the narrator was just really bad; mumbling, talking so low that even turning up the volume I was missing words. I decided I'd better pick up a physical copy instead!

  13. I love Alan Rickman and will be curious to know what you think of the book. That might be one I'll add to my list. I am in Chattanooga this week and wore shorts today. So exciting lol. Have a great day!

    1. Right?! I love when it finally warms up enough for spring/summer styles. But I always jump the gun in packing away my warm weather clothes and pulling out the lightweight styles early.

  15. Beautiful place to walk - I liked AP Bio a few years ago...that sort of silly, irreverent humour. And any Christie is good, in my opinion. #WWWhimsy

  17. Hi Joanne, beautiful hiking photos! We've had a lot of rain here too. Everything is lush and green, creeks, rivers and dams are full! The term 'flip flops' makes me smile. We call them 'thongs' here and yes I know what you call thongs over there! lol I'm looking forward to cooler weather and can't wait to wear socks and boots. It's funny isn't it?! Thanks for linking up with #WWWhimsy ! xo
