Talking About It Tuesday #62

This week Evan is on spring break and I'm trying to think of some fun stuff for us to do locally (as long as our weather cooperates)! I spent a rainy day yesterday in the kitchen making granola bars, some homemade wheat thin crackers and homemade cheez-it crackers. What have you been up to?

    Enjoy Ethan's spring break. We're expecting a major snow storm tomorrow. :(. I would love to hear more about your homemade crackers. I tried making my own once and it was a disaster.

    We've got spring break here, too. I always thought I wouldn't care about it after my kids are grown, but I ended up going into teaching as they flew the nest, so now I do. ha :) Thanks for hosting! Have a great week.

    My son is catching up on his sleep for spring break lol! He did go the Fox theater in Atlanta with his dad on Sunday night. But we have no grand plans since our spring break is not for a few more weeks.

    Thanks for hosting! It's "spring bhreak" for my grandchildren, and lucky them they are all vacationing in warmer places for the week. We have happily been avoiding all the snow the mountains have been getting ;ately, but that might change tomorrow as another storm is predicted.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Movies like Mom's Night Out, Christmas Vacation, and Grown Ups make me laugh out loud. 7.  When my ...

Share Our Lives: An Average Day in the Life.

This month for Share Our lives we're looking an average day in the life. I fear this is going to be so boring! With Alec off at college, Ian off at work, and Evan off at school 2 days a week I often spending my winter day inside reading, working on the blog, just hanging around the house.  I picked Wednesday February 26th as my average day in the life since it was the day before Alec's spring break was starting and I knew the week he was home was not going to be all that average. 4:30-- I woke up and worked on blogging for an hour or so. By 6 I was dressed and downstairs and ready to go. I made a salad and cut up/washed fruit to last us at least a few days. I started the dishwasher.  6:30-- I left for the gym and listened to my audiobook on the way. 7:00- 7:45-- I worked out 8:15-- back home and I typically change into my outfit of the day. 8:30-- I emptied the dishwasher, ate breakfast and basically watched Evan do his schoolwork (at this point in the school year he's just...

Hello, Monday!

 We had such a fabulous weekend! My weekend started Friday morning. I went to the gym, ran home to grab a quick breakfast, and picked up Evan. We headed out to meet up with friends for a hike. It was a beautiful day and we hiked/talked for nearly 2 hours.  The waterfalls were running high from all the snow melt After hiking Evan went with them to their house and I went to run errands. Then I had a quick lunch at home around 2 and went to pick Evan up. I visited and got to see their 2 new kittens then Evan and I swung by the apple orchard and headed home. Everyone was left to fend for themselves for dinner since my husband and I had to leave by 6 the latest to go pick up Alec from school. We picked him up from the Harborside campus and were home by 7:30/7:45 with a stop at Newport Creamery for Alec and my husband to get milkshakes.  Saturday morning my husband and I ran to get groceries then the younger boys and I watched a few clips of Who's Line is it Anyways before I he...

Orchid Show at the Botanical Garden

 Evan, Alec and I went to an orchid show at the botanical gardens last weekend. It was called pixels and petals and blended both orchids with video game elements. It was quite cleverly done; though admittedly we were mostly concentrating on the various flowers!  (my photos: taken with my cellphone): I loved these color changing cubes!
