Talking About it Tuesday #60

Well, hello March! I'm hopeful that this year March doesn't come in like a lion as we've had plenty of storms and high winds this winter. Do you know that saying? That March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb? I can not wait to change our clocks this weekend and see even more sun and daylight! 

Regardless of weather we have a very busy week planned.. well not so much "we" as Alec having made lots of spring break plans is forcing Evan and I to adjust our schedules too. Today, for example, I am most likely either giving up my car or playing chauffer since both boys need "their" car at the same time. I don't mind though I love that Alec is getting to see all his old friends while he's home. Today a few of them are meeting up at his old high school to have lunch in the restaurant and get to see chef and some of the culinary students that were a grade behind them. I'm sure they'll have a fabulous time!

We had another large turnout for last week's party and apparently I am ready for some spring projects as all my features this week feature arts and crafts and gardening projects.

    I did not know this saying..but I think it can be true....this year here it seems to be the other way round. March started with sunny weather and abnormal high temperatures...maybe he will turn to a lion ...maybe next week. Have a good time and all the best

    I'm over the "lion" weather and hopes it sticks to the lamb! I can't believe it's spring break already. It is nice to have them home and it's nice he gets to see his old friends!

    It sounds like Alec is having a good break- but yeah, the dynamic as well as the car situation can change one a dime (sort of like spring weather!) when kids are home from college :).

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. 10 on the 10th in July: 10 Special Summer Memories

 It's the 10th of the month and time for 10 on the 10th with Marsha. This month we're asked to share 10 of our favorite summer memories...  Oh I both love and hate this prompt!  I can't wait to read everyone's favorite memories and I just LOVE summer... and yet I have an awful memory. I often say I am so thankful for the blog because I can look things up. That said I have tons of little snippets of memories-- my birthday is in the summer so just thinking of my birthdays and parties would yield tons of memories! I have no hope of narrowing this down to just 10! Prime Purchases in January & February

 We decided not to renew our Amazon Prime membership in December so I haven't been ordering nearly as much from Amazon these past two month. I do, however, wait until I have a large list so I can take advantage of free shipping. My intention had been to try and not buy anything from them this year but it seems like I'm still placing orders at least once or twice a month... mostly because I can't find the same stuff in stores locally.  A lot of these organic food choices are cheaper in bulk through amazon and since I am the only one that eats them, they should last me quite a long time!  If anyone has any suggestions on where else to look for cheaper organic products I've love some ideas! I did place an order with Vitacost, and looked into Azure (which doesn't have drop off locations near us). What's Up Wednesday in February 2025

It's the last Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for What's Up Wednesday. I am so happy to see February coming to an end. While winter is far from over here it often feels like February is one of the longest months of the year; but it flew by this time.  What We're Eating: Sunday:   Chicken & sundried tomato orzo one dish Monday:   Chicken fajita chili with cornbread Tuesday:  Salmon (chicken breasts for the boys), baked potato (sweet potato for me) and zucchini.  Wednesday: Lasagna (I'll make a meat variety for the family and an eggplant one for me)  Thursday: I'm picking up Alec at school and him and I are heading to a show so we'll eat out and everyone else is on their own.  Friday: Ham steak, rice pilaf, and peas Saturday: Chicken, broccoli, & rice casserole (Alec's favorite!) with salad.  What I'm Reminiscing About:  Nothing that I can think of.  What I'm Loving: Even though it has been very cold and icy at l...
