Talking About it Tuesday #60

Well, hello March! I'm hopeful that this year March doesn't come in like a lion as we've had plenty of storms and high winds this winter. Do you know that saying? That March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb? I can not wait to change our clocks this weekend and see even more sun and daylight!

Regardless of weather we have a very busy week planned.. well not so much "we" as Alec having made lots of spring break plans is forcing Evan and I to adjust our schedules too. Today, for example, I am most likely either giving up my car or playing chauffer since both boys need "their" car at the same time. I don't mind though I love that Alec is getting to see all his old friends while he's home. Today a few of them are meeting up at his old high school to have lunch in the restaurant and get to see chef and some of the culinary students that were a grade behind them. I'm sure they'll have a fabulous time!

We had another large turnout for last week's party and apparently I am ready for some spring projects as all my features this week feature arts and crafts and gardening projects.

  1. I did not know this saying..but I think it can be true....this year here it seems to be the other way round. March started with sunny weather and abnormal high temperatures...maybe he will turn to a lion ...maybe next week. Have a good time and all the best

    1. We have had bitterly cold temps and high winds but it does look like it should be warming up a bit by the end of the week.

  4. I'm over the "lion" weather and hopes it sticks to the lamb! I can't believe it's spring break already. It is nice to have them home and it's nice he gets to see his old friends!

    1. Yeah, his break seems a bit early though I do know of at least 2 other colleges that have their break this week too-- Evan's isn't for another 2 weeks... so it seems like anytime in March is spring break!

  5. It sounds like Alec is having a good break- but yeah, the dynamic as well as the car situation can change one a dime (sort of like spring weather!) when kids are home from college :).

    1. It's actually the literal first time this has happened to us! Evan rarely wants or has to drive anywhere so Alec usually just has free reign but it's not that big a deal; luckily they both are pretty flexible and are fine with me playing chauffer or switching up their plans.

    1. Ugh! We didn't get any winter storms but our temps dropped like 30 degrees overnight and the winds came howling through something fierce. Hoping better weather comes your way soon!

  10. Joanne, those gnomes are so cute! We have having a lion day here in Texas, high winds and rain. Ironically I have always lived where March "marches" in like a lion! Thanks for hosting! Melynda @scratchmadefood!

    1. Oh yes, it's been like a lion here too with high winds... the rain was supposed to hold off until tomorrow but it looks like it's starting right now instead.

    1. Tell me about it.. it is so rarely a lamb by the end of the month.. maybe more like a lion cub?

  19. March always goes out like a lion in my neck of the woods. When we first moved into this house five years ago it snowed the last week of March. April was a mess and the first week of May (of MAY!) we had snow again. I about fainted. So far, though, the months of April and May have been calmer.

Sounds like your boys are keeping you on your toes! Hope they have fun!

    1. I remember standing in my mother's front yard when my oldest was a baby and it started snowing on Mother's day. Luckily that's not our usual. I don't count on nice weather until April...

  21. Normally I'm all about spring, but I'm kind of sad the kids barely got any chance to play in the snow this winter! Maybe we will have 1 more snowfall for them!

    1. We seemed to have more ice than snow this year or at least the ice was much worse to deal with anyway. I don't ever hope for more snow but do just sort of expect at least one more snowstorm in March or April since that's not all that unusual for us.
