Share 4 Somethings in March 2025
The prompts for the entire year will be the same each month—some things we loved, some things we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of.
Some things I've loved:We loved our time at the orchid show; it was so nice and warm and sunny in the greenhouses and the flowers were so pretty.
We all LOVED Ovo so much! It was a fabulous show!
Evan and I loved our day trip to the aquarium (even if we did wish it had lasted longer; it seems like the exhibits keep shrinking year after year).
Some things I've learned:

I learned some new recipes |

we learned so much about so many species of orchids at the show |
Some things that went well: The ice and snow have melted so we've had some great hikes; many of them with friends!

Thompson Dam |

Cedar swamp trail |

Lime rock preserve |
Some things I let go of: I cleaned out my closet a bit more and donated 2 bags of clothes; mostly winter stuff that I haven't worn all season.
Linking up with: Final Fridays, Spread the Kindness,
Love learning new recipes. I’ll have to check that book out.
ReplyDeleteI do too!
DeleteYou'll have some lovely warm weather soon to enjoy your hikes! Ruth@playworkeatrepeat
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteLetting go of old clothes is one of the best feelings for the house wise! The events you went to look amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteLove your pics from the aquarium!

Thank you!
DeleteThe orchid show looks fantastic and that cookbook is intriguing- are you enjoying it? Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI liked a few of the recipes but I don't see myself using or trying them all.
DeleteI like aquariums, however I have issues with the ethics of confining cetaceans in these, like that beluga or dolphin. They are large intelligent mammals that need room and social interaction in open seas, it's inhumane to hold them captive and they often get sick and depressed. I don't support these with money since the practice is economics driven.
ReplyDeleteI agree with part of that; however, many of our local zoos and this aquarium have animals that were injured in the wild and unable to be returned to the wild.
DeleteThat's good to know, in that case they are certainly better off there.
DeleteOh, the orchid show would be so wonderful to take in! And the awesome hikes! Still to wet (and muddy) here to get on our trails....can't wait for things to dry up from melting snow!!
ReplyDeleteOur trails can be quite wet and muddy but we have enough to pick from that we can often avoid the worst of it.
DeleteGood job cleaning out your closet! I do so much better with less choice. I need to do some organizing this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteHooray for purging your closet - I know that felt good. (:
ReplyDeleteIt sure did!
DeleteLooks like a fun month!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was.
DeleteThat orchid show sounds beautiful!! And it had to feel good to be out on the snowless trails!
ReplyDeleteIt really did!
DeleteFeels good to clean out the closet doesn't it?! I just did mine at the beginning of this year and I always feel so much lighter when it's done!
ReplyDeleteI tend to cull through mine constantly and keep a garbage bag in my closet so as each season goes by whatever I've not been wearing and no longer like goes in.
DeleteI've heard that's a good book, I should look for it at the library. Cleaning out closets is so liberating! That OVO show looked good, those usually are amazing. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI love checking out cookbooks through our library; I'm just not great about using them after that initial flip through so it works perfectly for me.
DeleteWonderful photos. And well done on the letting go. It's such a great feeling.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWhen you mentioned the aquarium, it made me think of our science museum. It seems like they have had the same exhibits forever while they used to get touring exhibits frequently. I just cleaned out my closet too!
ReplyDeleteI think many of the museums, zoos, and aquariums are having a real hard time keeping up with inflation.
DeleteI am looking forward to our vacation to Nashville because we will be tourists for a few days: zoo, exhibits, we have done any of that kind of stuff in a while!

Oh that does sound like a lot of fun!
DeleteWonderful photos! I love orchid shows! Its bee a few years since I went to one and I should make note to do it again at the Denver Botanic Garden next year.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteEverything there is super cool. Those hikes look amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThat orchid show looks so nice! We have one here in St. Louis at our MO Botanical Garden. I've only been once, but loved it!

This is our first time at the orchid show and we really loved it too.
DeleteHi Joanne four interesting things that you have shared. We have an orchid that surprises me occasionally by blooming. I loved looking at the specimens you saw at the Orchid show. Thanks so much for sharing with us at #WBOYC?
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely! I used to have an orchid... but I couldn't keep it alive for more than a year or two.
DeleteHi, Joanne - I love the Something Format. That Orchid Show looks especially fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWhat gorgeous orchids! I've always wanted to try my hand at them, but we don't have much natural light in this house. I've never been to a Cirque show, but I'd love to see one.

I do have lots of natural light but they can be such finicky flowers and I'm not a very good gardener.
DeleteI haven't had the ability to tackle any big projects lately (my closet is a big project lol), but I've been working on it in bits and pieces and have filled two bags so far. The book looks really interesting as I feel like I struggle with cravings, sugar especially. I will check it out. Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI am looking forward to nicer weather here so we can start hiking again. I also love learning new recipes. Looks like a great month!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteYour post has inspired me to buy an orchid. I've never had one and the grocery store has some pretty ones. Time to try!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! That sounds wonderful.
DeleteThe orchid show looks a great day out. The flowers are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOh I love going to flower shows or botanical gardens in the winter; it is so refreshing.
ReplyDeleteIt really is!
DeleteThe orchid show and Ovo both sound like such fun experiences. Glad you got to enjoy some great hikes too! And clearing out your closet—always a good feeling!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteThat Glucose Goddess book has me intrigued! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI read her book Glucose Revolution a year or two ago but was glad to find her cookbook/meal plan ideas at the library.
DeleteI was given an orchid two weeks ago. It's been so pretty, but I know once the blooms die off, I'll probably never get it to bloom again. ha.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to some hikes in April, so your photos are inspiring to me. :) I am in the process of cleaning out the top of my closet where I had been piling boxes of old journals and notes, etc. Some things I can easily throw away; other things are hidden treasures! I need to clean out clothes too, but ugh. Maybe later. ha
