Orchid Show at the Botanical Garden
Evan, Alec and I went to an orchid show at the botanical gardens last weekend. It was called pixels and petals and blended both orchids with video game elements. It was quite cleverly done; though admittedly we were mostly concentrating on the various flowers!
(my photos: taken with my cellphone):
I loved these color changing cubes!
Evan took my Nikon and got some great shots!

So many beautiful orchids! Orchids were always my mum's favourite flower. Such a clever idea for an exhibition. Ruth@playworkeatrepeat
ReplyDeleteI had no idea there were so many varieties; while I always enjoy orchids I've never paid that close attention to them before.
DeleteI would LOVE this! Just stunning!
ReplyDeleteIt really was!

It was a lot of fun; I had seen that someone else went to an orchid show in their city so I did a google search for one locally and found this one.
DeleteSo many beautiful flowers. I love events like this.
ReplyDeleteI do too!
DeleteWhat a great place~! Did it inspire you to try to plant even more flowers this year? It would for me- ha! :)
ReplyDeleteNo, but I did come real close to buying an orchid and some succulents to keep in the house!
DeleteI was just looking at my blog posts from the botanical gardens here and the orchids! I am thinking of going by this month. Beautiful!

You absolutely should!
DeleteI love it there. Orchids are so interesting! I don't think I've been there for the orchid show.
ReplyDeleteThey really are so interesting with such a wide variety of styles and sizes.
DeleteThe photos looks fantastic! We got a few orchids as housewarming gifts and I'm hoping they will bloom again!
ReplyDeleteOurs usually did really well... once I found a spot where they really liked the light. But then when it was time to re-pot them I just had no idea what to do. I wish I had thought to take them to our local nursery and ask.
DeleteWhat a beautiful place! You got so many great pictures!
ReplyDeleteWe really did get so many great photos; it was fun watching everyone snapping away! I don't think there was a single person we saw who wasn't taking photos of something.
DeleteNow that would be the perfect way to get some spring sunshine (and happiness) into your soul!! I need to walk through some flowers:)
ReplyDeleteIt really was!
DeleteI love how the botanical gardens have different ways to present the beautiful botanics.
ReplyDeleteYou'd be amazed at how different our gardens are, LOL

DeleteWhat a beautiful exhibit! Your phone took great pictures.
ReplyDeleteThank you! My phone does have a really good camera.. which means I hardly ever break out my "real" cameras anymore.
