It's the last Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for What's Up Wednesday. I am so happy to see February coming to an end. While winter is far from over here it often feels like February is one of the longest months of the year; but it flew by this time.

What We're Eating:
Sunday: Chicken & sundried tomato orzo one dish
Monday: Chicken fajita chili with cornbread
Tuesday: Salmon (chicken breasts for the boys), baked potato (sweet potato for me) and zucchini.
Wednesday: Lasagna (I'll make a meat variety for the family and an eggplant one for me)

Thursday: I'm picking up Alec at school and him and I are heading to a show so we'll eat out and everyone else is on their own.
Friday: Ham steak, rice pilaf, and peas
Saturday: Chicken, broccoli, & rice casserole (Alec's favorite!) with salad.
What I'm Reminiscing About: Nothing that I can think of.
What I'm Loving: Even though it has been very cold and icy at least we're getting lots of sunlight!
What We've Been Up To: Lots of snow removal and snowy hikes/walks. We toured yet another college and managed to repaint Evan's room in an afternoon.
What I'm Dreading: Taxes! It's that time of year again and not only do I have to prep our stuff for the accountant but I usually end up helping both Ian and Alec file as well.
What I'm Excited About: It seems to be our year for seeing shows and we have lots of show tickets/plans in the works.
What I'm Watching/Reading: Mike and Molly (Hulu), Bookie (Max), Dexter: Original Sin (Max), The Diplomat (Netflix)-- I rewatched season 1 with my husband who hadn't seen it yet and then together we flew through season 2. Back in Action (Netflix), Shifting Gears (Hulu), Lioness (Paramount +), Matlock (Paramount +), This Time Next Year (Roku), The White Lotus (Max).
This month I read/ listened to 15 books! I'll have a full recap up on the blog NEXT Thursday.
What I'm Listening to: I always have a couple of audiobooks going. I just started Memory Man by David Baldacci.
What I'm Wearing:
What I'm Doing This Weekend: Well, my weekend starts tomorrow with picking Alec up from school for his spring break and we're staying in Providence long enough to see &Juliet!

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month: We've got tickets to see a Cirque Du Soleil show and those are always fun!
What Else is New: Nothing much- we did replace all the curtains in the boys' rooms since theirs were pretty old and not even light blocking (we don't have blinds or shades since our oversized windows require specialty ones)

The snow looks beautiful but I’m sure you are more than ready for some warm weather! Enjoy your spring break and time in Providence with Alec 😊

Luckily we're having a warm-ish week this week. I take it whenever I can get it!
DeleteLove your outfits- so cute and winter perfect :). The paint job looks great. It's always a good feeling to get projects like painting done. It's not like painting is hard but there's prep work and then the painting itself and putting the room back together again that is all just time consuming. I hope that Alec has a wonderful break!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you. This time of the year I am getting so sick of my sweaters... I was surprised that we got the whole room prepped, painted, and put back together in one day!
DeleteI've got to find some dinner inspo/motivation! Your food photos look so good.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOh, I can't wait to hear about all the shows! Also, yes, for such a short month, why does February feel soooooo long?!?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteRight?! It's crazy how long it can feel some years.
DeleteOur dinner on Sunday was almost identical to yours- so funny! Your meals look amazing as always- I am dreading taxes too- BOO :)
ReplyDeleteUgh! I figure we'll tackle them this weekend while Alec's home and I can help both older boys get theirs all done while we gather documents to send to the accountant. We'll all get it over with in one long miserable day.
DeleteI love the color of Evan's room! Great outfits too.
ReplyDeleteI loved the color he picked too; I wasn't sure at first but it looks great.
DeleteYour food for this week looks and sounds so good, especially the Chicken fajita chili!
ReplyDeleteThe snowy pictures are beautiful!
Good luck with the taxes!
Thank you!
DeleteYou’ve been busy. I love all your meals.

Thank you!
DeleteI'm so jealous you get to see a Circ show...we always love their productions.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Jodie
I was so excited to see they had one coming near us again; I love their shows.
DeleteI love that you scrapbook and organize your pictures. Even print them. All mine are on my phone, google photos or my blog.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you! If anything I think I go overboard on photos but I figure you can never have too many memories around.
DeleteHow lovely - & Juliett was great (even tho I expected it to be terrible - not big on the Jukebox musicals but it was clever and fun). We had Ovo a few years ago. Luiza is here now - it's great. I love Cirque. We loved the first season of Lioness but the second season got so stupid (and frankly offensive - like they just go murdering the Mexican police because???? Honestly, it was obnoxious. So different to the first season) The first snowy picture is beautiful. Just stunning. #WWWhimsy
ReplyDeleteFunny; we saw Luiza a few years ago! I felt like the second season of Lioness was reaching with so many of the storylines. I kept rolling my eyes!
DeleteEvery recipe you shared looks sooo good!! I was clicking all over the place. Can you tell it's almost dinner time?? Haha!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I find these posts always make me hungry too; I pinned a few recipes to try.
DeleteWe watched Dexter years ago. I’ve thought about watching the new one. I can’t believe how many books you read and hike and everything else all in one month! That’s amazing!

Aw, thank you! We really enjoyed the new one; they really nailed the actress they got to play Deb.
DeleteYour outfits are amazing as always! I will be happy to kiss February goodbye...
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteHi Joanne, ahhhh more snow photos - I love them! I'm sure you're looking forward to warmer weather though. Here in steamy hot and humid Brisbane, Australia I am longing for cooler weather! Love all the clothes you wear - especially the pants that flare out a bit at the bottom. I like that style but have so much trouble finding anything that works for me because I'm so short and end up having to cut all the nice flared part off. Someone needs to make flares for petites! Thanks for linking up with #WWWhimsy and enjoy the rest of your week! xo
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I can not wait for warmer weather but I get how the snowy ones look appealing to you. They really should make flares for petites; my mom has that same problem.
DeleteI can't wait for your book reviews. I see some good ones in your graphic! I want to watch season 2 of the Diplomat. We're watching Black Doves right now. We're going to see Cirque Echo this weekend! Hope you get some warm sunshine soon.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you! I did have a pretty good month of reading. We'll have to check out Black Doves (I just Googled it and it sounds like something we'd like).
DeleteThat chicken looks amazing (and now I'm hungry!)
ReplyDeleteThank you! (and sorry 😊)
DeleteI love your outdoors photos Joanne, especially the snow. I can understand that you're looking forward to the end of Feb. I can't wait for February, the end of summer to be over. I love summer but the last past weeks have been heat wave temps and I'm a bit over it now. It's made it difficult to get outside as much as I'd like. But it will only be a couple of months and I'll be complaining about the cold:)
ReplyDeleteYeah those really hot days can be just as bad as our really cold days! I have a hard time with any of those temperature extremes.
DeleteThe chicken orzo dish sounds delicious! I haven't scrapbooked in years and should make a point to finish some albums this year. I would love to see & Juliette! Enjoy the show!
ReplyDeleteJill - Doused in Pink
Thank you! I'm really excited for it; I've heard such good things.
DeleteLoved The Lioness! My husband actually watched it with me!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I enjoyed it too; though I much preferred season 1 to season 2.
DeleteYou have so much going on Joanne! Love the snow shots and yay for the weather starting to warm up. I'm not ready for summer to end yet!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteLove all the cozy chic sweaters you have! Your scrapbook pages look wonderful.

Thank you!
DeleteI have been catching up on developing pictures and making photobooks! We love looking back at pictures and remembered vacations and fun times. I need to get inspired with food: I need some vegan recipes that are kid friendly!
ReplyDeletewww.chezmireillefashiontravelmom.com
It's so hard to find good kid-friendly vegan recipes... in my opinion because even though my boys don't mind vegetables they sure don't LOVE them either.
DeleteSo fun you have some shows planned, I have heard good things about &Juliet. Fun to go on college visits!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHi Joanne, really enjoyed this post. Some good looking food there, and you looks so cute and stylish in all your winter outfits. I love wearing my winter clothes, but I am lucky if I get to wear the same outfit twice in our Winters. lol Seems like it will be cold during the week, and then on Sunday when I can dress up a bit, it's warm. I keep waiting to be one of those lil old ladies who are cold all the time, but don't know if that is ever gonna happen. lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by to see me, and yes, I love pixabay and Unsplash for pictures, they are great.
and yes, lots to be thankful for always.
You take care
Blessings, Nellie
Aw thank you! We definitely have a long enough winter where I start to feel like I am always wearing the same few outfits. Thankfully I have quite the collection of sweaters.
DeleteI love your outdoor photos. You did great with reading/ listening to 15 books in a short month. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteGreat coffee post, Joanne. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteEggplant lasagna is my one of my favorite dishes!!
ReplyDeleteI love eggplant when other people make it but I don't seem to know how to prepare it well; but i refuse to give up and keep trying new recipes with it.
DeleteAll of the food dishes look so amazing. I love the color of Evan's room. I have mine painted a light teal. Congrats on how many books you read and listened to. I just got Deep End and will be starting it soon. I'm very curious to hear what you thought about the Maizey Yates novel.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I enjoyed the Maizey Yates novel so much. It was really sweet.
DeleteYour sweaters all look so cute & comfy! I really love the black one with the 3 buttons on the sleeve. Super cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much; that one is a Stitch Fix find. It's so soft too.
DeleteSo many cute and cozy outfits. We're watching some of the same stuff. Need to check out some of these books.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteGreat update! Always love your outfits...you had some good reads too
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
