Talking About It Tuesday #59

Happy Tuesday! Are you happy to see February wrapping up? I'm pretty excited since Alec will be home all next week for his spring break. I'm hopeful we can get some summer/vacation planning done while he's here. So far no one seems to care much about going away this year. But I am ready for some vacations-- even if I only get to plan a couple weekend trips around New England for just my husband and I. Do you have any fun trips planned?

    It's exciting that it's almost spring break time of year! I hope Alec has a wonderful break. I love the Lego roses. Alyssa got that same set for me last year for Mother's Day. We had a great time assembling the roses together.

    They probably don't want to plan another vacation because ya'll just got back from Hawaii. Yes, I'm excited to see the end of February, although I know March and April can bring the worst snowstorms of the year.

      That is pretty much what they all said. I'm ALWAYS up for vacation planning.... especially in winter. Our March and April can be pretty awful too. We've even had flurries in May before.

    We're looking forward to a trip to Delaware to visit friends in April. It will give us a preview of spring's coming attractions before spring wakes up here in New England.

    I am itching to get things booked for the next half of the year. I did book my flight to Arizona but we need to book our hotel for Nashville and planes for New York so I can find a rental there. My oldest is funny because he wants to go on vacation with us this summer, but he also needs to have a job or internship so we shall see what he can do!

      Yeah I'm waiting on everyone's summer plans/work schedules to firm up a bit more. Alec mentioned possibly not even moving home for the summer if he can find a campus job that includes summer housing!

    We have some plans dear Joanne. In October we go to Mauritius, in August we have booked a tango argentino workshop in an wonderful spa-hotel, and maybe we travel to Italy.... Have a good time and all the best

      Oh that all sounds so wonderful! I've always wanted to go to Italy. I've never heard of Mauritius but I did just Google it and wow that looks beautiful!

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Movies like Mom's Night Out, Christmas Vacation, and Grown Ups make me laugh out loud. 7.  When my ...

Spring Bucket List

Since it's officially spring it's time for me to share my spring bucket list with the other quarterly bucket list bloggers! 1. Enjoy a weekend with the girls in Louisville, KY (and check another state off my list!) 2. Celebrate Ian's 21st birthday!  3. Take a couple field trips with Evan 4. Enjoy a week in Acadia with Alec and my husband  5. Go to the farmer's market 6. Go hiking 7. Try some new salad recipes 8. Start eating breakfast &/or lunch outside when it warms up   9. Finish scrapbooking our Hawaii trip 10. Celebrate several graduations with extended family  11. Move Alec home from college 12. Put out the hummingbird feeder again.  13. See another live show 14. Celebrate mother's day with my mom and mother in law 15. Break out my real camera at least once a week for some photography fun. 16. What's Up Wednesday in March

It's the last Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for What's Up Wednesday.  What We're Eating: Sunday: Pot roast, roasted potatoes, and asparagus (salmon for me) Monday: Pollock, green beans, & rice with chicken tenderloins for the boys. Tuesday: Pumpkin sausage penne with salad Wednesday: Leftover turkey with vegetable fried rice and salad Thursday: BLT grinders with chips and salad (I'll just have salad with chick peas) Friday: Basil chicken pasta with salad Saturday: Crock pot short ribs with mashed potatoes and peas (I have no idea what I'll be eating instead) What I'm Reminiscing About: We've been talking about how to handle picking Alec up from school (as weirdly his last day is on a Wednesday and he has exams Tuesday night!)... and it seems like we were just dropping him off at college yesterday! Share 4 Somethings in March 2025

  The prompts for the entire year will be the same each month—some things we loved, some things we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of.  Some things I've loved: We loved our time at the orchid show; it was so nice and warm and sunny in the greenhouses and the flowers were so pretty.  We all LOVED Ovo so much! It was a fabulous show! Evan and I loved our day trip to the aquarium (even if we did wish it had lasted longer; it seems like the exhibits keep shrinking year after year). Some things I've learned: I learned some new recipes we learned so much about so many species of orchids at the show Some things that went well: The ice and snow have melted so we've had some great hikes; many of them with friends!
