My Winter Bucket List with the Quarterly Bucket List Bloggers

Surprise! I'm coming in with two posts this Monday (the other is a recap of our first days on Maui)! I know I've already shared my winter bucket list but I joined a group of fellow bloggers where we'll post quarterly about our bucket lists/to do lists/ seasonal intentions and today is our kick off post so I'm resharing my list and adding a link up if you'd like to join us!

My Winter Bucket List:

1.Have a great time in Hawaii--Check!

2. Celebrate Ian's college graduation-- Nope! BUT I asked him what he wanted to do and he answered "have dinner out in Hawaii" so we did do that. But he's a pretty low-key guy and didn't really want much fanfare.

3. Celebrate Alec's birthday

4. Get out on a few hikes/snowshoe walks

5. Try a new soup recipe

6. Visit a museum or gallery

7. Start scrapbooking our vacation

8. Read by the fire

9. Work on another puzzle or two

10. Have a pajama day

11. Make some homemade English Muffins (again)

12. Send a care package or two to Alec

13. Paint at least one new painting

14. Play around with my new Stampin Up! Products that are still in the box

  1. Your Winter plans sound lovely Jo - but it feels strange to read them after all those beautiful summery, blue water and blue skies Hawaii photos. It'll be quite a contrast for you coming back home and getting into the cold.

    1. Thanks; it was a bit shocking to come home to cold and darkness after all the sunny blue skies!

  2. I like how many of your goals are creative related! (Though since hobbies tend to get cast by the wayside in the everyday doings of life, it makes to prioritize doing them!)

    1. Thank you! I find that putting them on my bucket list sort of forces me to spend on time on them.

  3. I need to get my list written! I love the mix of creative, outdoor, and family in yours. I will aim for this week. Gotta get to it before winter ends lol.

  6. I love a good bucket list, and yours are always great! I don't really have one as of right now- I'm not so great at these- but I do want to start doing some things on weekends this year that I haven't done before. One such thing is to attend an art museum we have in Memphis; it's free on Saturdays! I think that sounds like something different that I would enjoy, and it's been ages since I've visited that particular place. One thing I want to work on is not being intimidated by driving in inclement weather, should show and/or ice occur for us here. It's coming later this week, it seems, and I need to learn to be more independent and unintimidated by things I've never had to do before. I'm definitely a work in progress, but I know I can do this. I hope your Monday is off to a great start!

    1. Thank you! I really enjoy visiting various museums and free is always a plus. Driving in inclement weather doesn't bother me nearly as much as driving in traffic. Up here though other drivers act like ice and snow don't even exist and I definitely drive much slower in bad weather (and am amazed by others who don't!).

  8. I like your bucket list and love that your son could decide how to celebrate college graduation. I would change that to a "yes". His idea is low-key, but it's still a celebration. It's ok he didn't want a party. Love your Hawaii photos. I've always wanted to go there. Have a great week! #MMBC

    1. Thank you so much. I feel like we didn't really celebrate at all though; it's weird because he hasn't gotten his diploma or anything yet either so it still doesn't feel real but you're right I did celebrate the way he wanted and I have to let go of my expectation.

  11. Your Winter Bucket List looks like a wonderful mix of relaxation and productivity! It’s great that you’ve already checked off your Hawaii adventure, and it’s so thoughtful that you celebrated Ian’s graduation in a way that felt true to his low-key style. I love how you’ve included things like hiking, scrapbooking, and trying new recipes—it’s a perfect way to enjoy the winter while being creative and active. Your plan to try out your Stampin Up! products and paint a new piece also sounds like a fun way to keep your artistic side flourishing. Can’t wait to see how the rest of your list unfolds this season!

    1. Thank you so much! I do find that I have lots of time to focus on creativity this time of year when the weather is often so uncooperative for getting outside much.

  12. Reading other people's list encourages me so I am so glad we are doing this! I am looking forward to the month getting under way and me being a little less stressed so I can think ahead!

    1. Thank you! There is only so much I feel like we can do in winter; our last few winters haven't even been snowy enough for things like snowshoeing, sledding, etc... which has been so weird!

  14. I'm more than a little jealous of your Hawaii trip, Joanne. I need to get a beach vacation on my list somewhere! Your photos are beautiful. Here's to a wonderful winter! Pajama day and reading by the fire sound especially lovely. I envision them being combined into one glorious winter day.

    1. Aw, thank you! I think those two will be combined too (though I envision many day reading by the fire &/or woodstove!).

  16. I think you honored your son's wishes and celebrated in the way he wanted! That's a win! Reading my the fire sounds delightful and an adult PJ day is brilliant!

  17. This is going to be so much fun because I think we may end up piggybacking on each other's posts. What you think of I might not, but then I want to do it, too. Well, of course, I want to go to Hawaii, but I doubt that's going to happen any time soon.

  19. Thank you so much for joining us!! OH MY GOSH, those photos from Hawaii. They rival the photos you take around your home. Gorgeous. I have never had Hawaii on my 'bucket list' but I think I need to reconsider that. I absolutely LOVE that photo of you and the hubs. Your dress is perfect and you guys look like a couple of young love birds.

Hope you had a delicious dinner to celebrate Ian's bday. I bet you are anxious to get started scrapbooking all of the memories you made in the 50th state.

Let's do a soup post!! Maybe a WW friendly one for one of your Wednesday posts? Holler back if that sounds like fun.

Thank you again for joining us.

    1. I loved how that photo of the two of us turned out too! I had just bought that jumpsuit the night before and it felt very Hawaiian. I can't wait to start scrapbooking; I've ordered my photos and some Hawaii/tropical themed scrapbook papers already! A soup post is a great idea!

    2. I think toward the end of January, I will ask if anyone would be interested in doing a soup link up. Stay tuned!! XO
