It's the first Wednesday of the month and while I also posted about my 10 most popular posts of 2024, I couldn't let Jenn's Currently link up pass me by. This month we're looking at what we're currently loving, doing to stay warm, resolving, organizing, and wearing.
Loving: I loved our vacation but I am really loving being back home too. I was thrilled to weigh myself and find that I didn't gain any weight at all on vacation either despite eating lots of yummy/ bad for me treats!

Doing to Stay Warm: We missed most of the super cold weather when we were gone (it was snowy and in the single digits!). It was in the 50's and raining when we landed and it has been in the 50's ever since. But I know we'll have more cold weather days. To stay warm I dress in lots of layers, use our fireplace and woodstove, and keep throw blankets handy.
Resolving:
To get back to working out 5 days a week and cutting sugar back out of my diet now that we're home. Organizing: ALL the photos Evan and I took on vacation and trying to get prints ordered from Shutterfly.
Wearing: Well, up until 2 days ago I was wearing shorts, flip flops, swimsuits, etc. on our trip but since we've been home I'm back to wearing all my winter favorites.

Oh my goodness, all that yummy food is making my mouth water! We took a short cruise in November on a cruise line not known for its food and I had actually lost a pound when I got home! Happy New Year, Joanne!
ReplyDeleteI lost weight on our cruise in January too!
DeleteI am starting the year with a trail run with some friends! And going to have to work on cutting out the sugars: there are still a lot of cookies and chocolates in the house though. The plan is to load up on veggies and fruits when I go to Aldi later today. And looking forward to colder weather again to wear all my winter clothes!

Yeah we loaded up on fruits and veggies at the store but we still have so much chocolate and sweets in the house. I'd happily just throw them all away but my family would mutiny!
DeleteThat's cool that you did not gain weight despite some indulging. I have never had macadamia nuts covered in chocolate but they sound delish! How nice that you were gone for some of that crazy cold weather. We are in for some cold weather but it's January? So... that's what it entails. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteOh I am sure we are in for some cold weather again but it's been a nice reentry into New England with these mild temps. this week.
DeleteI love your new sweater! Such a pretty cut and color both. I need to sugar de-tox. I didn't go on vacation but there has been a lot of sugar in my diet this past month. We had a colder than normal December but are in the 50's here too. I'm not complaining! Happy new year Joanne! It's fun to know you through our blogs.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am definitely not complaining about our warm weather either since I know it wont last very long.
DeleteThat is to be applauded not to lose weight while on such a fun vacation! I finally ate a vegetable yesterday and need to go to the grocery store to re-stock. I am sure this is a busy time of year for the healthier foods to be sold. Enjoy the milder temperatures.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised that our store was well stocked with fruits and veggies yesterday; I was afraid they might be all picked over by the time we got there.
DeleteI think extra exercise while walking on vacation helps me from gaining too much!
ReplyDeleteYeah, we did hike A Lot!... and while I ate some junky food I don't feel like I ate as much or as often.
DeleteWow! That food looks delicious! Love your new sweater. Hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteI'm so glad you had a fun time. We always love to come home to our home, sweet home too.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Jodie
Thank you!
DeleteThe food does look so delicious, would be too hard to pass up!
ReplyDeleteIt sure was! Though I did turn down dessert a few nights.
DeleteThat burger looks so very super amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt was SO good! I can't remember the last time I had a burger but it was well worth the wait.
DeleteOh my goodness, I can so relate with all the yummy food! I ate so much great stuff over the past few weeks, but now I have to get back to working out and eating better, too. It helps to know I'm not alone!!
ReplyDeleteIt really does!
DeleteYou had all the iconic foods in Hawaii...love it!
ReplyDeleteOH yes, I had a list of foods to try!
DeleteOh...did I miss a post on your trip to Hawaii? Those ice cream desserts look so yummy! I'm going to be doing lots of organizing, too, but I'm not exactly sure what!

Nope, trip recaps start on Monday... and run most of the month.
DeleteAll of that food looks so good! You have to treat yourself while you are on vacation though!
ReplyDeleteI think so too! I looked up all the "must try" foods in Hawaii and we tried to find them all.
DeleteWow - the food! I didn't gain over Christmas, either, despite me eating allll of the things. Big plans for this year include me taking a real vacation. (: Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYay! I hope you have a fabulous vacation.
Deleteyay to not gaining weight from all the food that looks delicious
ReplyDeleteThat was such a surprise!
Deleteooooo what fun food! Good for you to keep off the effects too. I like your winter duds
