Talking About it Tuesday #50

We had our first real snowfall of the season last week and while I am not typically a big winter or snow fan I can't help but love how it looks when there is a fresh white blanket of snow on everything and all the trees sparkle in the sunlight! Does it snow where you live? 

We had another, wonderful, HUGE party last week and I had a great time reading through all the fabulous links everyone left. It now takes me a couple of afternoons to get through them all but I don't mind. I hope you found some great posts to read too!

    Snow.. when it was cold last week, not a cloud in the sky. This week it is rainy but the temps are in the 50s and almost 60 so my sons and I are complaining!

    We definitely get snow but we aren't in a snow belt region or anything like that. We have had one very small snowfall already this year (kinda early) and yes, it was beautiful! Thanks for the link up!

      Our snowfall can really vary; these past few years we seem to mostly get dustings and small storms but I remember a few years when my boys were little where we measured the storms by feet of snow and we seemed to get one storm each week.

    Thank you so much for featuring my Christmas Tree card. I so appreciate it. We haven't had any real snow yet, just a light dusty that melts later in the day. It was actually 54 degrees on Saturday! In Wisconsin! We couldn't believe it. It was a good night to get out and enjoy the lights.

    Yes, we had snowfall two days ago. And it was about 10-15 cm. Enough to make a track for my self-made crosscountry ski-trail today.

    We had snow a couple of weeks ago. Woke up in a total white world. But it was gone by the time it was afternoon. Don't like it at all, but it was beautiful for a short periode.

    Our snow only lasted for a couple of days, but it was beautiful. My neighbor does that embroidery on paper, and I think it's just fascinating. Thanks for the link up!

      We pretty much can get snow any time from late November until Mid-April but we don't seem to get anywhere near the amount of snowfall we used to get when I was growing up (which I am completely fine with!). I'd love to live somewhere where I rarely had to worry about ice and snow.

    This week we had all rain and it was warmer. Last night the temp dropped 20 degrees and we are back to arctic temps!

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Movies like Mom's Night Out, Christmas Vacation, and Grown Ups make me laugh out loud. 7.  When my ...

Maui Day 1 & 2: Arriving, Exploring Kihei, and Haleakala National Park

 Oh my gosh, Hawaii is SO FAR from Connecticut. The ONLY thing about this trip I was truly dreading (aside from someone getting sick/injured and ruining our plans entirely) was the very long plane ride..  We headed to Hartford, Ct the night before our flight. We slept at the Holiday Inn express and woke up at 2:30/3:00 in the morning to get our car dropped off. Our flight was leaving at 6 am and the airport was so crowded!  We landed in Dallas on time to open our app and find that our Hawaii flight was boarding in 45 minutes and we still had to deplane and get across terminals (not quite the hour and 45 minute layover I had planned on).  We found our plane/terminal, ran to the bathroom and some of us grabbed food from a grab and go mart. Our flight from Dallas was 7 or so hours long and they did serve some food/snacks (that none of us really liked or ate) and we had inflight entertainment. Maui Day #3: Road to Hana

Every time I Googled things to do in Maui, the Road to Hana popped up as a "must see." Though every sight warned it was a LONG journey and a tough ride with lots of switchbacks and 59 bridges; 46 of which are one lane. The speed limit for most of the road is only 15-20 MPH and you have to stop to let others pass. So we headed out early and made sure we had a full tank of gas (since there is none on the road!).  We left our condo by 7 and didn't get home until 8 pm-- stopping for dinner this actually made it a fairly typical Road to Hana day (especially since we were staying on the other side of the island).   waves near Ho' okipa lookout-- they were HUGE on the way back.
