Crock Pot Philly Cheesesteak Grinders

I needed a quick weeknight crock pot dinner for a night I wasn't going to be home. We had cheesesteak grinders on our menu and I thought it might work in the crock pot. I was afraid of overcooking the meat so I started the crock pot after lunch and cooked it on high.

Ingredients (serves 6):

1 Onion; sliced

2 green peppers, sliced

28 ounces shaved steak

1 cup beef broth

6 slices provolone cheese

6 Grinder rolls

I combined the onions, green pepper, shaved steak and broth in the crock pot. And cooked on high for 4 hours. I did stir it every now and then.

Just before serving I added the cheese and let it melt.

Then we used tongs to serve up the cheesy, meaty, mixture onto our grinder rolls.

It worked perfectly!!

  3. These look good. We have plans to do some on the new outdoor griddle one day. I grew up in the Philly suburbs and am a bit of a cheesesteak snob : ) Have a great day!

    1. I do too! It's so nice to have a meal I can prep in the morning or early afternoon since I start feeling real sluggish by late afternoon.
