Prime Purchases in June

At this point in the year I've just made peace with the fact that this is going to be one of those years where I just spend a lot every single month.... Between graduations, dorm buying, etc. I relied on Amazon A LOT.

... buckle up; it's a long one! 😊

Apparently chairs became our theme this father's day!

I bought this chair for my step-father after I saw him looking them up online at Alec's party. He sat in the one my sister in law owns and just loved it.

Then Ian and I picked out this one for my husband. I'm sure he'll be napping in it a lot this summer.

We put together a few grad gifts for friends:

This book

This bedside organizer

This clip lamp

This power strip  (I bought 2; one for Alec's dorm room as well)

This clip fan

This keychain

We bought a set of mason jars to make these cute gifts; I filled them with a variety of Lindt chocolates and some cash.

I also bought a bunch of graduation frames to put photos in for Alec's friends-- a gift we gave alongside the jars of candy (complete with photos of him and the graduates AT graduation!).

This one (comes in a few colors but I picked their school colors)

This one-- I needed a 2 photo frame for one of the girls that was upset no one in her family had gotten a photo of her getting her actual diploma but I did! I'll decorate it myself with my Cricut.

I "needed" some new shoes for Alec's graduation and gave these a try. I liked them but man I forgot how hard it is to walk in shoes like this that don't really bend much (I didn't end up wearing them for grad night since I had walk up and down the bleachers when it was moved inside at the last minute).

The pots and pans we bought at one of those wedding expo things we were invited to well over 23 years ago finally started falling apart. I picked out this set to try since it got great reviews and is both stove top and oven safe, dishwasher safe, and scrubbable. Plus I don't have to worry about the family destroying anything using metal utensils.

We needed a new shower curtain liner for the boys' bathroom-- we have high iron content in our water and it tends to turn everything a weird rusty pink-ish brown. But we've had this one and it holds up real well to nearly weekly washing so I just reordered it again.

Alec lost his favorite water bottle so I ordered him another one. Here's hoping it makes it through his whole first year of college!

I was having a real problem with the second hole pierced in my ears so I got this set of piercing earrings and made sure to wear them round the clock for a good week. Making sure to keep them nice and clean and in no time my ears and the holes were feeling and working great.

  1. I am envious how much you are able to get on amazon. I can buy certain things, but there is a long wait to receive them. I love the mason jars you created!

  2. Yes, it's just an expensive season! But, I don't think you did that badly! I love my anti-gravity lounge chair so much!

  3. I bought that same bedside organizer for my son when he went to college, and it’s great. I don’t like shoes that don’t bend well either - I usually wear Birkenstocks every day. I have ordered a lot from Amazon lately too.

    1. Good to know! It ended up going into my son's pile since the friend we were planning on gifting it to is no longer headed away to college and commuting from home so we pulled together a money/candy jar for him as well instead.

  12. These are all great purchases for college! I actually was thinking last week I need to get a new outdoor chair. I have a second piercing in my ear and wear small pearls every day & they are a staple of getting dressed now.

  16. Last year when my youngest left school, had her prom and it was my eldest girls 21st birthday Amazon and other online shops had so much money off me. This year has been slightly easier on my bank account thankfully.
Those chairs look fab, I especially like the one for your husband and the naked roommate book did make me chuckle, what a great gift. Those filled mason jars are just brilliant!
