Our 2nd Trip to the Botanical Gardens
On June 15th Evan talked me into taking the boys to the Botanical Gardens. Evan and I went very early last spring to the Tower Hill Botanical Gardens and most things weren't in bloom yet (you can read about that trip here if you'd like). We've been wanting to go back in the late spring or summer ever since.
It was a HOT day with temps near 90 and with 100% humidity.. but we figured it wasn't all that different from spending a day in Disney in August! We had a great time. Evan took over my big/"real" camera and had fun.

aren't they fabulous? They made such a wonderful sound too! |

Great photos- both from the good camera and your camera phone. The colors of nature as well as the ribbons are amazing. The frog picture is so good!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThose ribbon canopies are so pretty! I love that he wanted to go back and even though it was hot, it was gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThey made such fun little sounds too! I was so glad Evan talked us into going.
DeleteI love yours and Evan's beautiful photos. It's a freezing, gloomy evening over here, and you just made me happy. Thank you xx

Aw, thank you! I am so glad the post made you happy.
DeleteI enjoyed all the photos. That living wall of grass is beautiful, and I really like all the ribbons in the wind. #MMBC
ReplyDeleteThank you! I loved that living wall.
DeleteSome beautiful shots! I am glad you had a nice day. #MMBC
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWow- what a beautiful place! I can see why you went back!
ReplyDeleteIt really is lovely and we see something different each time (well, so far anyway!).
DeleteThe photos are all stunning. Those ribbon canopies were so cool! It looked like you had the place to yourselves, maybe from the heat (Disney in August..haha I can relate)! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you! There weren't many people there at all.
DeleteThis is so pretty. I love the ribbons. I hate when I have the wrong lens for what I want to photograph!
ReplyDeleteHe nearly brought them both but really didn't want to carry two around so I told him to get all the close ups and I'd take all the distance shots.
DeleteThose ribbon canopies are amazing! They made for some great photos!
ReplyDeleteThey really did!
DeleteI love this (especially getting to enjoy it without the heat/humidity)! What a beautiful garden.
ReplyDeleteLOL! You're welcome.
DeleteThose ribbon canopies are beautiful. The flowers and plants were gorgeous, too! What a great spot!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love a botanical garden and sounds like y'all are getting some hot weather this summer!
ReplyDeleteYeah, we usually do.. but the hot days only last for a week or two and then it cools off again.
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful.

Thank you!
DeleteI love all the photos, but I think my favorite is the frog!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks!
DeleteGreat photos! I need to find a local botanical garden. We loved the time we spent at the one in Norfolk, great educational programs, beautiful flowers, and a great holiday lights event every year.
ReplyDeleteThey really are such neat places to explore. We've toured a few in different areas and states and it's neat to see what plants thrive where.
DeleteNo wonder you have so many beautiful flowers with that type of humidity, LOL.
ReplyDeleteWe love our Botanical gardens but have to wait until it cools down before going again.

Oh yes, we have lots and lots of humidity all summer long... this summer has seemed particularly sticky.
DeleteThe gardens look so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteBeautiful photos! He did a great job and what a lovely day it turned out to be.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful botanical garden!
ReplyDeleteIt really is a lovely space and so much of the gardens are maintained by volunteers!
DeleteThe aerial art is so cool! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI really loved that too!
DeleteWow! Beautiful! I love the vertical garden--so unusual!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWe love Botanical gardens, each one different throughout the country as well as each one different in each state! You both have captured great shots! And thanks for sharing with SSPS!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWe haven't made it to the gardens at Newfields or even the Franklin Conservatory this summer. That has been really hard because I love both places. I think the wall of grasses (?) was really cool, and I especially loved the coneflowers. But, those ribbon installations were amazing! Thanks for sharing them!

It really is a beautiful and serene place.
DeleteMy goodness that is so beautiful! I could spend days there!
ReplyDeleteThere were giant sections we skipped too because we just couldn't take the heat anymore but they have lots of fun little trails in the woods and statues and ponds and things.
DeleteI miss Tower Hill!!!
ReplyDeleteI can see why! It's such a fabulous place to visit.
DeleteWhat a beautiful place to visit for a wander. Gorgeous flowers and I love the garden on the wall. Great for a small space. I am looking forward to Spring. Have a fabulous week.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI thoroughly enjoyed this tour through the Botanical Garden! You and Evan did an amazing job with the photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you! That's so sweet!
DeleteSo many beautiful photos - by you and Evan! That exhibit looks like such a wonderful addition to your visit! I love all the textiles and artwork and that living wall of grass looks gorgeous! We belong to the University of Minnesota's Arboretum and go often as well as a local conservatory. What a great way to spend a day!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWhat a super beautiful place. Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks!
DeleteWhat a wonderful day you guys had at the botanical gardens. So many pretty things to capture. Love the lily pads, the ribbon canopy, that BUTTERFLY!! Holy smokes, what a capture. Our outlet mall suspended rows of children's pinwheels (without the stick) above the shoppers and the wind made them blow constantly. It was a very pretty effect. Your ribbons reminded me of them.
ReplyDeleteOh I bet that was such a neat effect!
DeleteEverything looks so pretty there and both of you took beautiful photos!
