Hello Monday! A Look at Alec's Senior Prom
On Friday, Alec's school had their senior prom and seniors are allowed to leave school at 10:45 (as long as they have parental permission) so that they can "get ready" for prom.
Obviously, Alec does not need 8+ hours to get ready so he asked if his friends could just follow him home from school and hang out at our house all day. Of course I said sure and even offered to buy them pizzas.
They laughed their way through a movie (or perhaps TV show; I wasn't paying real close attention) |
They played Battleship |
They ran a good 30 minutes behind schedule with hair and make up even with Alec pitching in and helping one of this friends with their hair style so we were very late getting to the park for pictures with all of their other friends (and didn't get any at our house like we had planned). But it ended up working out well since the park was pretty much deserted by the time we got there and it had been really busy with 2 other proms in the area on the same night.
He looked so handsome Joanne- love his suit! The kids all look great- hope they had the best time ever!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you! I thought he did a great job picking out his tux and all the colors. It sounds like they really had a lot of fun; and that's saying something since he didn't want to go in the first place.
DeleteHe looks very smart!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteAlec looks so handsome and grown up! I bet they had a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteRuth@playworkeatrepeat
It sure sounds like it. He has a wonderful group of friends.
DeleteHow fun! I love that he wanted to hang at your house! I hope he made great memories!
ReplyDeleteI love that they all wanted to hang out here too!
DeleteIt looks like everyone had a great time!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteReally good pictures! How fun that the students got to leave school early- what at great incentive to go to prom if anyone was on the fence about it!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was so surprised that their school had a form all ready to go and the kids just had to get it signed. They also had free gowns available through the guidance office for anyone that needed/wanted one.
DeleteSuch fun photos! Looks like it was a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteWe really lucked out with the weather; it poured the day before and the day after but prom day was sunny and beautiful!
DeleteWhat a fun weekend and prom night he had! I loved seeing all the pictures.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Deletelooks like he had a lot of fun! I like the color of his vest!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I loved his vest/tie color too.
DeleteIt sounds like Alec and his friends had a great day before the prom.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos! He looks so smart in his suit.
Aw, thank you!
DeleteYour son is. tall : ). Everyone looks happy...glad they had a great time! I'm sure the photo booth was a big hit. Have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes he is! He's easily 6'2" maybe even 6'3" by now. They had so much fun with that photo booth.
DeleteWhat great memories.

Definitely! It was so funny because it not only meant memories for him but the rest of us have been talking about it all weekend too.
DeleteLooks like a great time! It's always so fun seeing how the prom dresses change over time.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love seeing the different styles and designs. I commented on one of the girl's and her pockets and a fellow mom turned to me and said that she wished we had had that option back when we were going to prom too.
DeleteEveryone looks great and I like all the family photos. #MMBC
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHe is very handsome.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks!
DeleteWhat a great night! You got some good pictures! So fun that they hung out together at your house.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot of fun; they were cracking me up.
DeleteHow fun! That's disappointing about the senior photos but you've got so cute shots from the prom.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the school photographer just doesn't take photos that are our style-- everyone tends to look very washed out and bleached and she costs a small fortune BUT that does mean she takes photos for proms and special events for free for them so it's a trade off I guess.
DeleteHow wonderful! Alec looked so handsome! I'm glad they all had a memorable time
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteEveryone looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love seeing these photos. The photo booths make it such a fun time.
ReplyDeleteXoox
Jodie
Thank you!
DeleteI remember those prom days and seeing the kids all dressed up. Alec looks very handsome indeed!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love it! How fun! Thank you for sharing the photos here. 💕
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteIt looks like it was a fun Prom
ReplyDeleteNight with lots of memories.
Thank you!
DeleteI think going to prom with a group of friends is probably so much more fun than going with a single person. I, of course, went with my now husband and had an OK time. But, a group of friends would be sure to make the event fun! Love the photo booth photos!

I went with my now husband too.... and a group of friends! We had a wonderful time (well, I did anyway I'm not sure my husband really cared).
DeleteWhat a smart looking guys! And the girls all so pretty! I'm glad they had a great time. It is something special!
ReplyDeleteThank you! That's why I encouraged him to go after he refused to go to his junior prom. I have such great memories of my proms.
DeleteThat's funny that they got off of school early so they had time to get ready for prom and they were still late. Sounds like it didn't matter much if they got home early. Their outfits are lovely.
ReplyDeleteI know! But only one of the girls even knew how to do hair and make up so she was basically getting all 3 girls ready by herself while Alec just hung around-- until he was pulled in to take over using the curling iron on the very last girl.
DeleteWhat a fun time with friends. I think it's so funny the school gave them 8 hours to "get ready." I only had one of my 3 kids go to prom, and he was home by 9:45pm, too! :) ha Visiting from Talking About it Tuesdays.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for sharing this post with us at the Will Blog for Comments #38 linkup this week. Hope to see you there next time, too!
DeleteThank you! I thought it was pretty funny too but I guess a few of the girls were remarking that between hair/nail/make- up appointments many of them really had to scramble to be ready on time. I think it probably didn't help that it's a regional school and depending on where some of the kids live the venue was over an hour's drive (it was less than 30 minutes for my son).
DeleteLooking nice there.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWhat fun! It sounds like your son had a fabulous time and it looks like he has a great group of friends! What a blessing! I'm sure lots of wonderful memories were made!
ReplyDeleteHe really has made some wonderful friends these past 4 years.
DeleteI love where the kids at my son's high school take their prom pics. It's 45 min from the house but worth the drive (Berry College). They all ate out after before heading to prom. Like your son, they didn't stay that late.

All our proms include a sit down meal so luckily no one needed to be fed first or we would have been even later! They had a real hard time finding a park that was somewhat centrally located since kids in his friend group come from a wide variety of towns around the north east corner of our state.
DeleteCongrats - good looking guy!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for participating and sharing at SSPS 311. See you again next week https://esmesalon.com/tag/seniorsalonpitstop/
Just an FYI - Jennifer no longer part of the crew, and has been replaced by Taryn, so not sure if you wish to update the image, that's up to you.
Thank you; I did download the new image to begin using next week!
DeleteWhat a special day! These pics are lovely. Your son looks so handsome and his date is beautiful. My son is graduating this week so I'm getting all the feels of these last high school days.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.kathrineeldridge.com
He actually didn't have a date; he went with a large group of friends... just all his friends are female. :) We still have another 3 or so weeks of school left.
DeleteHow special!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThey all look wonderful! That was a great way to spend the special day and taking photos at the park was very clever.
ReplyDelete-Soma
