Wordless Wednesday: Snowy Photos

We were supposed to have a huge snowstorm come through last Tuesday and luckily, most of it passed us by. We only ended up with around 6 or so inches of snow and with bright, sunny skies the very next day it began to melt in earnest.

However, I couldn't help but grab my camera and take a few photos throughout the day.

Taken before the sun even came up!

We got another smaller storm over the weekend and Evan and I went hiking while the snow was falling.  It was so pretty!

    1. I love taking photos during the blue hour and in the snow there are just so many more shades of blue to enjoy.

  3. Your pictures are lovely! I am in SC and heard the other day we are the only state in the US that has not had a single snowfall this year. Even a part of Hawaii had some snow. I have mostly moved on to Spring now lol, and of course that ushers in pollen season which is no fun, but I kind of miss having at least one big snowfall during the year. Have a great day!

    1. Thank you! That is so funny that they are the only state to not have any snowfall (though I did know that Hawaii often gets snow; they even have a little ski area on one of the islands!).

    1. We still have snow sticking around! But no snow in the forecast so I'm okay with that.

  7. Your pictures are snow beautiful (ha, see what I did there?!) I love how you say you got "only" 6 inches - we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves if we got that much here in the UK!

  10. I was so happy when it started to snow here last Friday! We got almost 6 inches, and Jack, my Westie, was in seventh Heaven! That dog just loves running and jumping in the snow. Your photos are amazing as always, Joanne! I'm so glad you share them.

    1. They did end up with a snow day off but I think that's only the second one we've had in the 4 years Alec has been in high school; most of the time we can get away with either a delay or an early release but this storm ran from early morning right through until the afternoon.

    1. Our snow totals are always all over the place! They don't predict very well for what's going to happen either so we just brace ourselves and hope for the best.

  20. I am living vicariously through your snow photos! We didn’t get any this year and it looks like our window of opportunity has closed. I’m sad we didn’t get snow, but I am ready to bring on the warmer temperatures now. If it’s not going to happen, it’s time to move on!

  25. Ah snow... we are in the middle of a 3 day snowmaggden but that's ok as we need the moisture so badly. Plus the workout from shoveling it all is free! Love your first photo of "daybreak" with the blue light. Bernie
