Western Caribbean Cruise; Day 1
We were scheduled to board our ship, the Celebrity Apex, at 12:30, but our hotel shuttle dropped us off at 11 and we were assured we could check in early.
Check in was a breeze and everyone was so helpful and nice.
We began exploring the ship, went to our room to check it out:
We went to a complimentary lunch at the Tuscan Restaurant. It was delicious. I had Caesar salad, baked salmon (that I forgot to photograph) and chocolate cake.
We walked around exploring some more and then around 2 we headed to our room to unpack.
dressed for dinner
We went to Cosmopolitan where I got French onion soup and ravioli.
We walked around the ship and got dessert before calling it a night. Everything looks so pretty all lit up.

Have a wonderful time! Your meals look delicious and I like your evening outfit a lot.
ReplyDeleteThank you! The food was incredible.
DeleteThis looks like such a blast! I’ve never been in a cruise before.
ReplyDeleteThis was only our second cruise; we went on one over 22 years ago for our cruise.
DeleteI'm looking forward to reading more. The first day exploring the ship is always so fun!!!
ReplyDeleteIt really is!
DeleteYeah! I am so excited that you are sharing this adventure with us. The ship is beautiful and looks like an amazing time already. P.S LOVE your Lilly top :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteLooks like a really cool ship! Can´t wait to ¨travel¨ along with you!
ReplyDeleteIt was a really neat ship.
DeleteI've never been on a cruise, so I want all the details! Your room looks huge! I am most afraid of feeling the swaying of the boat at night when I am trying to sleep!
ReplyDeleteThey have so many stabilizers on them now that you hardly feel the ship moving at all... at most we felt a gentle rocking when waves got large. We picked this cruise line specifically for the larger room sizes.
DeleteWhat a fin time! That ship looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt definitely was.
DeleteEek can’t wait for more. What a beautiful ship. Have a ball.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWhat a beautiful ship! I can't wait to read more. I'm so glad you're having/had a great time!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWhat a wonderful first day on your cruise. I can’t wait to hear more.

Thank you!
Delete...fun on a floating city.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely felt like a floating city.
DeleteYay! A cruise sounds divine right about now. I hope it's just the most wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to bottle up some of that sunshine and bring it back with me.
DeleteThose giant cruise ships have so much to offer - they're a bit daunting for someone like me, but for those who love to be social and who love to be entertained, I think they're amazing.....all those pictures are selling it to me big time - and your cabin looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteWe are surprisingly anti-social and I liked that this ship had so many tables for two in their restaurants. We also made sure to pick what is considered a "smaller" ship by cruise line standards.
DeleteYour dress for dinner is lovely! Can't wait to hear all about your cruise, have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteLooks like an amazing ship!
ReplyDeleteIt was a really nice, fairly new ship.
DeleteGosh, your pictures make me so nostalgic about cruising! I haven't been in years and keep asking my parents when we're going on an Alaskan cruise, haha. Have fun!!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you! I think an Alaskan Cruise would be really neat too.
DeleteGreat post! It's great seeing your photos, it gives me a clearer idea of what the cruise is like
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThis looks like a lot of fun and the ship looks beautiful! I have never been on a cruise and never researched one so I am really looking forward to hearing more about your trip. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWe had only ever been on one prior to this and I knew I didn't want a ship any larger the first one we went on; most of the newer ships are just so huge and overwhelming.
DeleteWhat fun!! thanks so much for taking us along! I can't wait for day two:)
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was a lot of fun.
DeleteWhat a beautiful ship. Hope you continue to have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteIt was a really lovely ship!
DeleteAmazing you had time to take photos, especially since it looks like you had so many activities and food venues to choose from. Saw this post at SSPS3293. My shares are #69 through 73.
ReplyDeleteI made sure to keep my cell phone handy at all times and snap away whenever I thought of it.
DeleteThis cruise ship looks so nice and modern. Can't wait to follow along for more.
ReplyDeleteIt is only like 5 years old so it was very modern feeling.
DeleteAw, thank you!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice and relaxing.
DeleteThat ship looks so amazing and your room is a good size! I love a cruise and can't wait to see more pictures!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI have not been on a cruise. Looking forward to your posts as well! I do not have claustrophobia, however- being confined on a boat I would be worried I would experience it!
ReplyDeleteTake care and best wishes.
I was definitely starting to feel a bit stir crazy by the end of the week; we met people who had been on a 72 day cruise and I'm pretty sure that would have driven me over the edge!
DeleteI am terrified of cruises! But your cruise looks like you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteWe had a great time! I love looking out at those huge expanses of ocean (tough I was surprised at how many other ships we saw most days).
DeleteHow fun, Joanne! I’ve only been on three cruises, but I enjoyed them. I loved seeing your food and your outfits. Thank you for visiting my blog. I’m still not getting emailed comments from you, but at least I can respond here.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI've never been on a cruise, but I think it looks great! Your room looks so lovely! I can't wait to see the rest of your trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteAnd look at you without layers. I bet this was so fabulous,

I was pretty cold most of the time though; I wasn't counting on the cold air conditioning everywhere we went on the ship!
DeleteOh, I have been thinking about a cruise. I've never been on one. Are all the rooms that big? The food looks delicious! I can't wait for the rest of the trip!
ReplyDeletehttps://marshainthemiddle.com/
No, we picked a room with balcony since they have a bit more space (and light!).
DeleteIsn't it impressive! Looking forward to read more.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love your room! I've never been on a cruise but always thought the rooms were really small... that's huge and the ship is gorgeous! Looking forward to more from your trip.
ReplyDeleteI depends on the room you pick as to the size it is; some are huge-- 2 floors with a dining room, etc. and some are tiny. Of course room size reflects the price you pay... But we thought it was worth it since we tend to spend more time in our room than most people.
DeleteThat room looks much more spacious than I pictured for a cruise! The food looks delicious too.
ReplyDeleteThe food was incredible and the portion sizes were great; I felt full but not stuffed.
DeleteOh wow! Wishing you guys an amazing trip. I can't wait to see more photos. xo
ReplyDeleteVisiting today from #AnyThingGoesLinky #36&37
Thank you!
DeleteThis looks so fun. I enjoyed seeing the pictures. I'm visiting from the Heart & Home linkup.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSo glad you are enjoying a cruise! It has been unusually cold in Colorado and I wish I had planned a get away!
ReplyDeleteIt felt great to escape the cold for some extra sunshine!
DeleteWow! I have felt that a cruise would be a lovely and resting vacation, and you have documented it so well, now I know I need to take one! Thank you for sharing with us at SSPS!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteThat looks so fun and the food, wow!! I've never been on a cruise before.
ReplyDeleteRuth@playworkeatrepeat
The food was incredible!.. and I didn't even think to take any photos of the buffets.
DeleteOooo...Celebrity! Swanky!!! What a nice looking ship. We cruised Celebrity 20 years ago because we got a killer deal and the itinerary was better than others during that time. We loved Celebrity's food and the decor. Not as much 'fun' stuff to do on the ship. Curious to read more about your experience.
ReplyDeleteWe wanted something "small" and more quiet... so I shied away from most of the larger ships with water parks and things on them.
DeleteEEK! I'm so glad to see this post! I know you were worried about going since your MIL has been sick. I'm so glad you were able to go! I can't wait to see more. The ship is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt was such a relief to get to go!
DeleteWow that looks amazing. I love your jumpsuit. The food looks so yummy and the ship looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSuch a beautiful cruise ship. Everything looks fabulous. The food looks delicious. Thanks so much for sharing t Love Your Creativity.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThose cruise ships always look amazing to me. I can't believe all that stuff is on a boat and it still floats. Your room was beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThey really are so huge; it's a wonder how they move through the water (and so quickly too!).
DeleteFun. I'd love to do a cruise sometime
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a neat experience!
DeleteIt looks like you had a terrific time during the cruise
