Tower Hill Botanical Gardens

 It was such a beautiful day last Monday that Evan and I decided to put the schoolwork aside for the day and head out on a little field trip. We went to the Tower Hill Botanical Gardens in Massachusetts and had a wonderful morning exploring all the gardens, looking at the sculptures and artwork, and listening to all the nature sounds. 

My photos all uploaded in a weird rather random order so I'm just going to leave them be and let you wander much like we did. 








I could not get over the pattern on these leaves!

    I always love visiting botanical gardens! This one looks wonderful with the early spring flowers and beautiful statues! And loving your dress!

      I could easily have spent longer wandering around. They have lots of little areas set up for picnics and lunches too and a fun little play garden area for kids.

    A field trip was definitely the perfect choice. What a visual feast! The flowers are gorgeous, the statues are interesting, and the beautiful vistas are all so uplifting. Your dress is beautiful too!

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? Dollar Store Candy Cane Wreath

Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Movies like Mom's Night Out, Christmas Vacation, and Grown Ups make me laugh out loud. 7.  When my boys were youn

 Since the 10th falls on a Sunday this month (and I don't blog on the weekends) I thought I'd share my 10 on the 10th a bit early. I love that it also coincides with Friday Favorites since Marsha's 10 on the 10th is often one of my favorite prompts to answer.  Rather than asking us specific questions this month, Marsha has asked us to share 10 things we like to do or eat in November. I thought I'd actually share 10 of each! Now not everything on my list is something we only like to do or eat in November-- we hike pretty much year round and you better believe that many of our favorite foods are enjoyed throughout the fall/winter season too but I'm sure you won't mind me taking a bit of a creative license with the prompt.  10 Things I like to DO in November: Hiking, of course! This or That: Thanksgiving Edition

 I'm getting pretty excited for Thanksgiving tomorrow!  I have all the food prepped and ready to go.  I was going to share my Thanksgiving favorites but really that's mostly just our menu sine I cook and mainly just cook my favorites.  We keep it real simple in our family and don't have the dozens or so dishes that everyone else seems to prepare.  I saw this cute little This or That Thanksgiving Edition and thought it would make a perfect blog post for today.  As always I started with the original...  And here's one with my answers.  I honestly don't know anyone that makes ham for Thanksgiving... ham tends to be either a Christmas or an Easter thing up here (though I do see ham in the stores so I know people must have them).  We have always made a turkey in our family and just a turkey with lots of side dishes (that may or may not change through the years).  We really eat around 2 so between lunch and dinner but we treat it as a late lunch.
