Styling Spring Dresses With Ageless Style

When Amy suggested spring dresses for this month's theme I knew I had the perfect excuse to order those dresses I've been eyeing.  See... I don't normally wear dresses but this year I have been making it a point to order dresses and skirts and I've actually been wearing them as well!

My favorite dresses tend to be maxi length and when I found this beautiful dress with giant, bright sunflowers I just knew I had to have it.

It's a beautiful flowy fabric and it has pockets too!  I love that more skirts and dresses are being made with pockets.

I wore this for a morning at the botanical gardens and I got quite a few compliments on it too!  I do love that dresses are so quick and easy and make an instant stand alone outfit.  Paired with sandals and a pair of earrings I was all ready to go.

  6. Funny, but when I saw the picture in your botanic garden post, at quick glance I thought you were by a pool, with a bathing suit and matching towel! The dress is really pretty!

    1. LOL! My husband thought I was wearing a bathing suit when he first walked in the door that night too; must be something with the material or the style of the straps.

  7. I don't usually wear dresses but I have bought a few short one's this year which I am wearing at the moment with a cadigan and leggings as it's still quite chilly here. Hmmf.
I do love a maxi dress. Yours is gorgeous, I love the bright sunflowers on it.

    1. I just find them more comfortable than short skirts; maybe because I don't have to think about them as I move about.

  12. It's a perfect dress to wear to a botanical garden. Just beautiful! I never wear dresses either but ordered 2 just recently. Had to exchange them for a size down and really hope they will fit as I love the style and lengths which isn't happening often as am petite and most dresses are too long on me.

    1. Oh I hope the new sizes fit! It can be hard to find style, fit, and length that are all flattering.

    1. They sure can be... but for some reason I so rarely reach for them.

  14. Seriously that's such an amazing dress Joanne. I love to hear you say you've been wearing them more. I think they are the cats meow and I'm always surprised that more women don't wear them.

    1. I rarely wear them since we spend so much time in the woods and out hiking and in nature; which means some days I'm changing multiple times.. but I'm making my peace with that.

  15. Gosh! I was sure I'd commented on this, but it was still in my inbox so I knew I hadn't! I love this dress, especially the print! So fun. I can see you wearing this on a date night! Lovely, lovely lady!

  17. Oh heavenly days, you look A-Mazing in this dress. And to wear it to the botanical gardens was so clever. You are like a portable garden yourself. Elegant, colorful, put together. Who needs a bunch of fuss and accessories with such a splendid dress. Head of the class (or the garden) with YOU!!
