Favorite "high School" Movies

I hope you all have been enjoying this series as much as I have.  As you can tell by my previous posts (here, here, and here), I am a HUGE movie buff.

While I know "high school movies" is not really a genre, there are so many movies that I really enjoy that are set in high school.. or set during the high school years.  They're super cute and they make me laugh (or perhaps smile).

    Wow this is a great walk down memory lane :) So many amazing movies it's hard to pick a favorite because I love all of them. Encino Man... what was the other Pauly Shore movie where the country girl moves to LA for college? Ugh, I can't remember but OMG SO Funny!

    Wow!! What a great list! I felt like I kept saying "yes!" to each one as I scrolled down. I especially love She's All That, 10 Things I Hate About You, Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Save the Last Dance, Encino Man... I could go on and on! Now I want to go watch them all haha!

      I can't believe I didn't think of Grease! I guess because Olivia Newton John and the whole cast always seemed older to me than high school students. Plus I am going to have write a whole separate post with musicals!

    Oh, there are some favorites here (and others I've never seen). I definitely loved Clueless and Weird Science. I only liked Twilight because my co-workers and I went to see it and had a blast!

    I love so many of these too! Can't Buy Me Love is such a forgotten gem. I remember when I found out Patrick Dempsey was "McDreamy," and I was like, huh? Ronnie Miller?? Such an excellent career progression, haha. I also looooved Some Kind of Wonderful! For at least a year, that was my pick any time we'd rent a movie at my mom's house!

    I am the QUEEN of 90's teen movies! That is one of my favorite genres. 10 Things I Hate About You is one of my all-time favorite movies! Have you ever seen Can't Hardly Wait?? That one is excellent!! And American Pie, too!

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Maui Day #3: Road to Hana

Every time I Googled things to do in Maui, the Road to Hana popped up as a "must see." Though every sight warned it was a LONG journey and a tough ride with lots of switchbacks and 59 bridges; 46 of which are one lane. The speed limit for most of the road is only 15-20 MPH and you have to stop to let others pass. So we headed out early and made sure we had a full tank of gas (since there is none on the road!).  We left our condo by 7 and didn't get home until 8 pm-- stopping for dinner this actually made it a fairly typical Road to Hana day (especially since we were staying on the other side of the island).   waves near Ho' okipa lookout-- they were HUGE on the way back. Share Our Lives: 15 Ways I Save Time on Chores

 I'm taking a break from recapping our Hawaii trip this week but will be back on Monday with daily posts from our time on the big island. Welcome to the first Share Our Lives link up of 2025! This month we're talking about how we're saving time on chores.  Over the years I have tried so many different ways to streamline the household chores/cleaning.  Now I'm not always 100% convinced that they save time but they definitely make cleaning the house seems like a more manageable job.  Some things we've tried over the years:  First and foremost stop dirt in it's tracks. We ask that people leave their shoes at the door! That cuts down on a lot of dirt coming into the house.  Ask for help!  I assigned tasks to each of the boys and rotate who had what chore monthly (something that no longer works with Ian working full time and Alec away at school but it was so nice while it lasted). Maui Day #5: Kula Botanical Gardens

 Our last full day in Maui, we decided to visit the Kula Botanical Gardens-- the one that we closing when we tried to stop on our first full day in Maui. We slept in a bit and enjoyed a lazy breakfast at/around the condo before heading out.  It was another beautiful, clear day!  We arrived at the botanical gardens around 9:30 and spent nearly 2 hours exploring. Evan and I took a crazy amount of photos and Alec brought along his sketchpad and pencil.  My photos are in no particular order and I threw in some of Evan's as well... enjoy the roundup! notice the flowers growing OUT of the pink fronds! I was obsessed with these hanging flowers The green balls are macadamia nuts; this was a macadamia tree There were a couple of gazebos  we saw ducks, cats, koi, geese, and more.  This tree had the neatest bark!
