Nature Photos I've Been Taking
Without my weekly photo challenges (which completely fell by the wayside last summer) and with our weather being rather dreary I have been so unmotivated to take photos. But my mother got me a tripod for Christmas and I am determined to use it. So I've been breaking out my big camera more and taking photo of the lake or when we're out hiking.
I even pulled out my tripod to try and get some photos of the light snow we had a week or so ago.
Evan and I went on a snowy hike last Thursday and I snapped a few photos (even though the viewfinder got filled with snow and I could hardly see what I was taking photos of!)
Yesterday while getting read I saw this hawk land on the tree outside our bathroom window so I ran to grab my camera and was so surprised it hadn't flew away!
Linking up with: Weekly Link party,
Great photos! Love the ones of the lake and the trees reflected in the water. Good job of getting out even though the weather has been less than ideal.

DeleteBeautiful photo's, it's a gorgeous time of year x
ReplyDeleteIt really is.
DeleteWhat pretty wintry scenes!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOk- even though I hate winter, you captured the beauty here for sure!
ReplyDeleteThat pretty much sums up my thought about winter too; I hate it but it sure is beautiful. LOL
DeleteThe lake and snow pictures are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThe reflections on the lake are stunning. Beautiful birds too. #MMBC
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOoh, great work on the hawk! I love catching a good bird photo.

I thought for sure it was going to fly away by the time I grabbed my camera and switched lenses.
DeleteThese pictures are so beautiful, Joanne!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWe have had some awful weather here too. It actually snowed today for about 10 minutes. lol
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos. I do love the reflection one's. x
We had what they call a "wintery mix" today-- rain mixed with ice/sleet/snow... pretty much ALL the cold stuff that makes driving awful in winter.
DeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteStunning photos as always!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThese are beautiful photos of nature. You've done a great job. I like the views with reflection...

Thank you!
DeleteI loved seeing these Joanne, especially the snow shots. Granted I wouldn't want to be out in it, haha. But it's so pretty,

LOL! I know just what you mean.
DeleteAs always, your photos are spectacular! I love the shots of the hawks! I think they are such majestic creatures! Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome!
DeleteBeautiful photos!! All the views of the trees reflecting in the water are beautiful, and I especially love the snowfall photos. I really miss the I Spy link-up and have really slacked off in taking any photos lately.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I am finding it hard to stay motivated; luckily Evan is studying photography this year so reading with him about how to properly use the camera is helping a bit.
DeleteBeautiful lake and reflection scenes. The snow shots worked out very nicely. Worth the effort.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteLove the snowy picture with the red building, fabulous
ReplyDeleteThanks! I was really pleased with how that one turned out too.
DeleteAmazing photos, wow
ReplyDeleteAwesome pics
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOh wow your photos are amazing and I am always in awe when I see them! You are so lucky to live so close to nature.

Thank you!
DeleteYou have some really beautiful photos there! And some wonderful hiking spots!
ReplyDeleteYou live in the prettiest place. I know I say it all the time. But TRUTH!! What a great unexpected capture of the hawk. The reflections are so clear it is hard to tell where they leave off and the land, trees begin. The darker photos in shades of gray are my favorites. Haunting. But the little bit of blue sky in some of the later photos make them hopeful, uplifting. Beautiful captures.
ReplyDeleteThank you! We have had so many dreary gray days that the little bit of blue sky really has been uplifting.
DeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you about the tripod and that you're getting your real camera out! You have some beautiful nature near you. Some beautiful photos here, my favourites are those with snow falling and those moody ones at the beginning. It's hard to find motivation for photography when the weather is dull, I haven't used my camera properly for a long time, mainly to take some simple shots of places where I walk and run.
ReplyDeleteIt really is so hard to get motivated when everything is so gloomy.
DeleteHi, visiting from Wednesday Words & Pics. You certainly have a eye for good pictures. The area you live in looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWow! What fabulous photography and I love the 'moody' shots also the mirror images of the trees in the lake. What a beautiful area you live in. I'm visiting from Wednesday Words & Pics. Have a lovely week. x
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteJust gorgeous, Joanne! I love all of the pictures with the fog!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteYou did a great job using the tripod. I've become less able to cart around my photography equipment these days so my second granddaughter, who has quite the eye for stills' photography has most of my gear now. Thank you for your blog post shared on Wednesday’s Words and Pics this week. I do appreciate your support. I hope to see you next week too. Denyse.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It takes me awhile to get it all set up and I haven't even thought about it taking it out of the house yet... but I am having fun playing around with the camera more.
DeleteI love your moody snowy pics Joanne, what beauty you have around you! #WWandPics
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThose are some beautiful photos. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are gorgeous! I especially love the reflections on the lake and the branches with snow falling.
