Encouraging Hearts and Home: Missing Nature

I swear it has either been dreary, rainy, or snowy for the past few weeks-- I mean it probably hasn't been quite that long but I'm starting to feel like we're never going to see the sun again.  All this wet, dreary weather and cooler winter temps means that Evan and I have not gone out on any hikes and I am so missing being out in nature.  That's why there were several nature posts shared last week that really grabbed my attention.  They made me smile and remember that we WILL get out in some sunny weather for our own wonderful hikes soon so I decided to feature them today.

And Now, It's Time for This Week's Encouraging Hearts & Home Blog Hop!

Join your Encouraging Hearts & Home Co-Hosts each week for encouragement and support for your heart & your home. We hope to provide a space that builds each other up and lends a helping hand along the way. With all the negativity in the world, let's shine a positive light!

    1. Thank you! We did get out and hike yesterday since the day started out with snow; before it turned to rain and all washed away.

  2. Winter is my least favorite season BUT it has been mild so far so I am getting outside as much as possible to walk before I can't for awhile- you are my inspiration :)

  4. This too shall pass!! We have been having a mild weather lately- almost ever since the blizzard before Christmas. My daughter and I were able to go on a long walk yesterday, albeit not in nature per se but to walk to her favorite coffee shop ;). Think how nice those sunny days will feel- not just literally- when you finally get some nice weather.

  5. Oh thank you so much for featuring my fall hiking post! I so appreciate it. Yes, missing nature is hard in winter, especially when you live in a super cold climate like I do. We are learning to get out and enjoy the beauty of nature in the winter, though it's hard as there aren't that many warm winter days.

    1. We try to get out anytime we can too; it's actually been warmer than usual here but so wet and rainy.

  6. Joanne, it is tiring when the weather stays dreary for too long, isn't it. We are blessed in our part of the desert southwest to have sun most of the year. But we have had cold windy days and some unusually low temps at night during a couple of spells. Thanks for hosting. I always find great inspiration and yummy recipes here! Happy New Year! I hope it's a year filled with God's blessings.
