Encouraging Hearts and Home: Getting a Jump on Fall

We've already been enjoying some crisp fall temps this week even though the calendar says it's still summer. But, I am loving all the fall themed posts that were linked up at last week's party.  So many have me craving apples, and pumpkins, and wanting to pull out all my fall themed décor.  I thought I'd get a jump on fall and feature some of those this week.

    I think I'll pull out my fall wreath today. We still have very hot weather, but I'm ready for some crisp mornings!

      OH I am always ready for fall but I am NEVER ready for winter. In fact I often say I'd love to find a place where it's fall all year long. That would be my utopia.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Dollar Store Candy Cane Wreath

Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6.  Since the 10th falls on a Sunday this month (and I don't blog on the weekends) I thought I'd share my 10 on the 10th a bit early. I love that it also coincides with Friday Favorites since Marsha's 10 on the 10th is often one of my favorite prompts to answer.  Rather than asking us specific questions this month, Marsha has asked us to share 10 things we like to do or eat in November. I thought I'd actually share 10 of each! Now not everything on my list is something we only like to do or eat in November-- we hike pretty much year round and you better believe that many of our favorite foods are enjoyed throughout the fall/winter season too but I'm sure you won't mind me taking a bit of a creative license with the prompt.  10 Things I like to DO in November: Hiking, of course! It's the second Monday of the month which means it's time for the Share Our lives link up. This month for the Share Our Lives link up we're sharing where we like to shop. I struggled a bit with this prompt since it's so open ended. I thought I'd list my "top 3" stores in various categories. inside our local Market Basket Groceries: Market Basket Price Chopper Stop and Shop For Gifts: Amazon (free shipping to family that lives far away is fabulous!)
