Photos of the Month; July 2022

 I was so thrilled that Lysha gave us all the prompts for July at once.  I still made sure that each week's photos were taken during the actual week's prompts though.  I have given up on using my "real" camera for all the photos though as I've only been taking my cell phone and my really old point and shoot camera on vacations/ trips with me since it's much easier.  I'm still pleased with the photos I took though.

– feature-- One of my favorite garden features is my hydrangea plant; I've been trying for years to get them to grow and this year they are thriving!

– forecast-- We finally had some rain in the forecast this week; the cloudy skies were a welcome sight. 



– future-- Not that far into the future I'll have another hydrangea flower to enjoy!

    Such a cute bear cub! And I love hydrangeas - we have some growing by my husband's shed. They're huge and blue and just beautiful.

      Yes! I think so too. My mom used to chuckle because in high school I would take my book with me into the pool and float around while reading!

      The mother and cubs were over by our trash cans and cars nearly every day that we were in Tennessee; in fact my mother in law saw the mother bear walk onto the neighbor's porch! Thank goodness she calmly walked away with her cubs whenever she saw or heard us. I like nature and all that but not that up close.

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Movies like Mom's Night Out, Christmas Vacation, and Grown Ups make me laugh out loud. 7.  When my ...

Favorite Moments and Memories of 2024

 Oh 2024... it was a challenging year for sure but we had so many fabulous moments and memories. I fully admit that many of my favorite memories this year have no pictures-- like Easter dinner with the family, Alec's acceptance day at JWU, etc. But I am more interested in being present these day then I am in getting the exact perfect photo. In January  we started the year with a big family breakfast out to lunch before my sister and nephews headed home. It's an awful picture but we were all laughing because my mom tried 4 times to get us all in there! Then a week or so later my husband and I did get to go on our cruise (we weren't sure right up until the last minute since my mother in law was in the hospital just before we left).  Roatan Grand Cayman We celebrated Alec's 18th birthday nearly a full month late in  February but he didn't mind. Share 4 Somethings in December

Tomorrow is the last Saturday of the month and time for the Share 4 Somethings link up with Jennifer. We're flying home (if all goes well with our connections we should be home tomorrow morning-- though I am REALLY worried about the "adjustment" the airline company made so we now have a much shorter connection time than we planned!) so this wrap up is pretty much all about our trip to Hawaii!  Once again we'll be sharing some things we've  loved and/or disliked, accomplished, some things we've improved upon and/or that need improvement, and noticed. Favorite Outfits from 2024

 I thought I'd do something a little different this year and share some of my favorite outfits from each month of the year.  I got to wear some fun and bright spring/summer clothes on our cruise in January.   Then it was back home to sweater and pants.  It was well into April before I finally started packing away winter clothes and brought out some spring stuff.  But May found me mostly wearing long sleeves and pants.. still..  June finally warmed up and I wore everything-- shorts, skirts, dresses, capri pants, t-shirts, tank tops, etc.  July was pretty warm too August was really rainy and cooled off fast by the end of the month September started cooling off so I pulled out more pants  October's weather was all over the place with everything from frost and freezing temps to weather in the 80's.  November was kind of all over the place too weather-wise.  December really started to feel like winter again
