Friday Favorites: Goodbye May!
We had a great week. Despite temperatures varying a good 50 degrees all week long we did have beautiful, sunny weather most of the time so I am not complaining!
We had the best time hiking to the top of Mount Wachusett with our hiking group on Friday. The weather was sunny with a decent enough breeze that the climb was mostly pleasant. The view from the top was incredible too.
We stopped for a rest in the meadow about 1/3 of the way up the mountain |
The breeze at the summit felt wonderful |
With highs in the 90's on Saturday we went out for ice cream after Alec's karate class and lunch (though I elected not to get any since my eczema was already flaring up). I did get to spend some time out on the deck reading my book later in the afternoon though!
After our weekend heatwave the weather cooled down considerably on Monday but it was just perfect for hiking. Evan and I settled on an hour long hike to Ross' Cliff and I just loved how green everything was!
We saw a set of swans |
We're pretty sure this is a muskrat |
How was your week?
May slipped off unnoticeably! We've been having quite a shy spring here. It was a cold spring showing winter's teeth to change suddenly into a hot-raging summer. I wonder what we'll do in July in August? Smoulder, I guess :) Wishing you a lovely weekend ahead!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I thought with our temps in the 90's over the weekend that might mean we were in for a long hot summer but then everything cooled right back off again so I really have no guess.
Delete*July and August!
ReplyDeleteOh the hikes look amazing...it is here!! Hope you have a great weekend Joanne!
ReplyDeleteThey were incredible! (perfect other than the bug bites I got).
DeleteHappy Anniversary! That's cool that you saw a muskrat!
ReplyDeleteThank you! We kept hearing something playing and splashing in the water and we just could not figure out what it was... until we saw that little head poking up.
DeleteHappy Anniversary! As always, the pictures are amazing!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks!
DeleteHappy Anniversary! Neat you caught a photo of the muskrat!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! And, is it me, or does power washing feel really satisfying? It's probably just me :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think power washing does feel really satisfying; it's usually all I can do not to start pressure washing everything. We probably should have done the house while we were at it but my husband is still recuperating from his nasty fall a few weeks ago and I didn't want to make him overdo it.
DeleteI love pressure washing, there is something so satisfying about seeing the difference a little water can make! Your hiking pictures are stunning and make me want to get outside!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWeren't the temps just crazy this past week? We had the same weather. But your hikes look wonderful (as usual)! What fun! And happiest anniversary wishes to you and your husband! Have a great week ahead....enjoy that spiffy, clean deck!:)
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteYour deck Looks great! As do your hikes and nails. Enjoy your anniversary weekend I know we are going to try to.!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteNow that looks like ideal hiking weather to me. When you guys go in the winter, I am shivering just looking at the photos, LOL.

DeleteWhat a crazy range of temperatures! But fortunately you were able to make the most of it! Your hikes look so nice. I need to get out and do some hiking, it's been a while! And I really like those cards you made! The butterflies are really pretty!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteHasn't this weather been nuts? We've had highs in the 90s and then down to the 50s! Crazy! Love those nail wraps!
ReplyDeleteYes, it has been crazy.
DeleteOur weather has been so up and down as well. It's crazy! Love the pretty photos from your hikes. The views are beautiful!

I do like the weather this time of year; it's only in winter that I really don't enjoy living up here.
DeleteIt looks like you had a good week Joanne. I like your manicure and have a happy anniversary and holiday weekend.
ReplyDeleteWow, the view from your deck is stunning! Your cards are beautiful. Love the wildlife photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOur weather has been hot, hot, hot! We were up in the three digits recently and it was so bad. I usually don’t complain but hot temps and I do not get along! Boo to no ice cream but I hear you. Btw, Which book are you reading? I also loved your nail polish color. You just inspired me to go lighter on my nails this time around. Happy long weekend!

Oh wow; 3 digits is much too hot! I just finished up If For Any Reason; a cute story about a woman returning to her family home in Nantucket.

ReplyDeletePressure washing is always so satisfying. Instant results. The deck looks great and now y'all are all ready for summer! I need to do the same for our driveway. It needs it desperately.
ReplyDeleteAnd happy anniversary!
Thank you!
DeleteI love your nails and how they change colors as you go to the end of the nail. The mint green outfit is so pretty and so Spring like!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteGorgeous pictures as always!! We are having a great weekend here as our humidity has dropped with high's in the mid 70's...It is supposed to stay like this until next weekend!! Sounds great to me!! If it never goes above 75, I am a happy person!! Thanks so much for visiting!!
