A New Spring Wreath
Today I am joining up with a group of bloggers for a Spring Craft challenge. This was just the push I needed to get my new wreath made for my front door.
I just LOVE how it turned out!
This year I decided to stick with a purple and white theme after finding a few floral stems on sale at our local Michael's store. As always, I started by cutting the flowers off the stems and then tucking them into the grapevine wreath; playing and rearranging until I had an arrangement I liked.
Then I propped it up; stood back from it and left it for a a few hours before continuing to work. I find that bit of time and space helps me be more critical of my final result.
Then I began to slowly pull out each flower/bunch and hot glue them into place.
I love how it brightens up our front door and the purple pops nicely against the blue door.
I hope you'll stop by and see what my co-hosts have made:

DeleteYour spring wreath is lovely, Joanne. Purple is such a great color to use for spring. It's great that you found the blooms on sale!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Finding those blooms on sale really helped me narrow down my selections.
DeleteYou know I especially love your wreath since it's made using purple flowers and ribbon, Joanne! Great job!

Me too! It's so fun and no two wreaths ever come out quite the same.
DeleteLast week I was thinking to myself that I never see spring wreaths over here in the UK but since then I have seen quite a few. They must be becoming common over here. Yours is so pretty. x
ReplyDeleteThank you! So... do you just not normally hang anything on your doors?
DeleteYour wreath is so pretty!

ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI really like your wreath. It's so pretty.
ReplyDeleteSo so pretty, I love the purple with your door colour. I saw another Brit commented that we just don't see so many wreaths all year round here although you do see them now and again. You see a lot of Christmas wreaths here and then doors are normally plain the rest of the year. There is one person on my street that has a lovely wreath up all year round and sadly it's not me!!!
ReplyDeleteI try to have a wreath or some sort of decoration up year round on our front door since I don't do a whole lot with decorating the outside of our home.
