Monthly Musings; July 2021

 It's the last Thursday of the month and time to link up with Holly and Patty for their Monthly Musings.  This month we're talking all about summer fashion.



1. Bikini, tankini, or one piece? I actually own all three; so far this summer I have mostly been wearing my bikini's and tankinis since I like the ease of having two pieces.

2. Best swimsuit you ever owned? I'm not sure I have a favorite; I don't really like wearing bathing suits.  

3. White jeans-- yes or no? I have a pair or two and do wear them occasionally.



4. Favorite pair of flip flops? OH boy; I am not sure I could pick just one pair!  I do love my Clark's though and my Sketchers On the Go.  These latest flower ones my mother in law bought me for my birthday are adorable!


5. Must have summer accessory? Sunglasses.  My eyes are really sensitive to light and I need the sunglasses to stop my eyes from watering and hurting.

6. Favorite summer fashion staple? This year I have been all about the halter top.  





7. Skirts or shorts? Definitely shorts; I only own 2 skirts. 



8. Any brands that just say summer to you? While I don't own any I do think both Lily Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines have great summer clothes... I just haven't found a piece that fits me just right. 

9. Favorite summer scent? Anything coconut; like this fabulous lotion



10. Do you switch your handbag in the summer? Yep, I love all my Vera Bradley bags and swap them out often but for the past two summers I use my pineapple bag.

    LOVE that binkini- I always obsess over stripes and that is such a cute set! You look great in white jeans and shorts!

      Thank you! I am not usually one to buy anything with stripes but I liked that bikini and kept thinking about it days later after seeing it.

    I don't like bathing suits either. That bikini is cute though. Sunglasses is a good accessory answer!

      I'm trying to make myself like them and use them more... I don't think it's working though. They're just not comfortable enough for me to want to wear them for more than an hour or two.

    I bet Clark's sandals are so comfy - I haven't tried them. I forgot to put sunglasses on my post, but that is definitely a summer accessory I can't do without. My eyes are also very sensitive!

      They are! I never used to wear flip flops at all and hated them. My mother in law bought me two pairs of Clarks one year for my birthday and urged me to try them around the house for a few days and if I didn't like them she'd return them. An hour later I was walking down the street and told her I was definitely keeping them!

    Yes to sunglasses! I never leave home without them! I even wear mine on cloudy days because my eyes are so sensitive.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Dollar Store Candy Cane Wreath

Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Movies like Mom's Night Out, Christmas Vacation, and Grown Ups make me laugh out loud. 7.  When my boys were youn
