Our Summer Bucket List(s) 2021

This week I am linking up with Shay and Erica for a fun edition of Let's Look.. This month we're looking at our summer bucket list!  I make a bucket list each season so that we can try and make the most of each season but summer is one of my favorite seasons.  Living on the lake makes it easy to enjoy lots of summer fun without having to go very far.

Activities and memories:

1.  Go to the beach!

2. Visit my sister in North Carolina

3. Go kayaking

4. Celebrate 4th of July with the family

5. Take a day trip or overnight trip to celebrate my birthday (preferably to Maine or the Cape)

6. Get together with our friends and family and enjoy some mini parties/ cookouts

7. Watch some fireworks somewhere

8.  Pick strawberries and blueberries

9. Play cornhole

10. Go four wheeling

11. Go hiking

12. Make s'mores and sit by the fire

13. Float in the pool or lake

14.  Try paddle boarding

15. Enjoy a shopping/lunch date with my mom

Recipes/ food we want to try and/or make:

1. Cheese Danish

2. Make some yummy homemade ice cream

3. Make homemade clam chowder like they used to serve at Rocky Point

4. Peach berry fruit salad

5.  Make strawberry shortcake, scones, or trifle

6. Try making scallops

7. Grilled romaine lettuce

8. Make our own yogurt pops

9. Frozen Oreo Dessert

10. Try a new pasta or potato salad recipe

  6. If you've never made scallops before, they can be overcooked quickly, so watch them. We make them in the frying pan in butter, or under the broiler. They are my favourite but my husband is allergic so I don't get them often. Enjoy all those yummy foods!

  15. Lots of fun things on your summer bucket list, Joanne. I have been wanting to make popsicles with my kids for so long and I keep forgetting to buy the molds. I need to get on that. Thanks for sharing and linking with me.

    1. I hope you get to make some this summer... worse case you can use Dixie cups and popsicle sticks too then when they are frozen you can peel the disposable cups away.

  16. Fun list! I REALLY need to use my ice cream maker. I've had it for years and never gotten it out to use - hopefully it won't be too tough. I'd love to try homemade ice cream. I'm definitely planning on doing a lot of pool visits this summer.

  18. Wow wee, great comprehensive list. And I love that you do a foodie bucket list, too!! If you have success with scallops, please share! I tried to fix them once with no luck. But love them dearly.

Hope you and the hubs will enjoy a wonderful, romantic getaway. We would like to do something just the two of us, also. Have the family beach vacation the end of July. But we need some down time together, just the two of us, before summer's end.

Thank you for linking up with me. Will enjoy following your progress.

  20. You are right in the midst of summer I know and I hope the hot weather we are seeing in North America has been contained. The heat is very hard. We have some summer like that in Australia. Your post was full of joy, fun and family life. Loved it.

Thank you for sharing your post for #LifeThisWeek at Denyse Whelan Blogs. It's been great to see you here and thanks so much for your contribution to the community of bloggers who link up from Mondays to Wednesdays (Australian Eastern Time). Next Monday the optional prompt is Taking Stock. And we are past half way for my 2021 Blogging Year! Denyse.

    1. It has been very hot and very humid this week... but it is supposed to break and actually be quite chilly by this weekend. I'd prefer somewhere in the middle of those two extremes but we'll just keep on enjoying each day as it comes the best that we can.
