Friday Favorites: Hello June!

We had a fabulous week!  My husband and I took little trip to the White Mountains in New Hampshire.  Most of my favorites are about our trip but I will have longer posts about it with even more photos coming soon!

We LOVED our hotel; the Mountain View Grand.  They gave us a free upgrade when we checked in too! The views were pretty grand.

We had splurged on the Bed and Breakfast package and worried that with Covid restrictions we might have to resort to room service but the Tavern fit us in each day for breakfast and a late lunch/ early dinner.  The food was amazing-- we LOVED the changing breakfast buffet and their Mountain View burger was the best.  The views were pretty fabulous too and we always seemed to sit at the same two tables!

We went on several hikes and saw so many beautiful waterfalls, flumes, and brooks!

We enjoyed some pretty spectacular views on some of our hikes too.

That little ribbon cutting through the photo is the road we started on

We saw lots of pretty flowers and wildlife and enjoyed so many tasty treats like the freshly baked cookies and Gifford's ice cream from the snack shacks located at Arethusa Falls and Willey House (respectively).

Alec finishes up his last week of academics today and just has a week and half left of culinary classes. He will also finish up track this afternoon with a pizza party and awards.

We tried a new recipe this week and I just LOVED this pasta primavera. Loaded with fresh veggies it was so flavorful and felt like a nice light meal.

I actually got to break out my shorts one day this week!

Despite coming home to tons of laundry and housework I found plenty of time to sit out on the deck and read too.

So many of my flowers are in full bloom right now and I spent an afternoon walking around taking photos just chilling... it was so nice. Here are a few of my favorites:

  6. What a beautiful hotel! I love vacations where you are outdoors during the day, then have a cozy room with a nice comfortable bed to come back to at night. And a shower. Those are important too. Gorgeous pics!

    1. Yes! I definitely need a comfy bed and shower each night... I just could not hike and camp and get up to do it all again the next day. I am definitely a day hiker.

    1. To funny! My girlfriend goes up to that area of NH frequently to hike and is the one that suggested most of the hikes to us; I'd text her a photo of the waterfall or summit when we got there and she'd respond with a similar photo of her own from a past trip.
