I normally have all my posts done a full week in advance (with the exception of my Friday favorites) so it was really unlike me to have to pull this entire post together yesterday afternoon!  It wasn't so much that I had forgotten about it but that I was stumped on a few of these prompts.  Here goes nothing:

celebrating-- My husband and I just celebrated our 20th anniversary this past weekend with a nice 4 day trip to the White Mountains in New Hampshire.

collecting-- Lots of books on my Kindle.  I have been letting all my Kindle first reads pile up as well as picking the no rush shipping whenever I can that gives me credits I put towards Kindle books.  My hope is to only bring my Kindle in the car to save space.

gifting-- I'm wracking my brain trying to come up with some father's day gifts.  It's so hard when most of the guys in our family are pretty non-traditional (meaning they don't drink alcohol, don't watch or play sports, don't cool or grill, etc.)

thinking-- About our upcoming trip to North Carolina.  I've already begun putting together some packing lists and menu/grocery ideas for while we're there.

trying-- Lots of new recipes and foods.  Just in these past few weeks alone we tried pasta primavera, making BBQ pulled chicken, and pesto shrimp with pasta.

  4. Ugh, I'm struggling with Father's Day for Brian, too. He does drink and watch sports, but you can only have so much beer and University of Georgia stuff. Haha! I need to come up with something soon!

  5. It's tough to figure out gifts for my dad. He does some of the "traditional" guy things but not really enough to warrant most gifts. hah

    Happy Anniversary!

  14. Ahhh, New Hampshire....I used to spend a lot of time there and in Maine as a kid....The Kancamagus Highway, Old Man in the Mountain (poor guy fell down), the Flume and skiing Loon! You brought back sweet memories for me. Ideas for father's day can be a challenge, so what about a basket of favorite treats with a few lottery tickets tucked in?

    1. The poor guy did fall down! We were at Loon in 2019 for our anniversary and I try to get to Maine at least once every summer even if only for a day trip. I was thinking of a goodie basket of treats.

    1. I rarely am in a hurry so it works out great for us... only problem is I have learned I need to use them up pretty quickly or my guys use them for movies.

  17. Happy 20th Anniversary and many many more!

My father does drink, play golf, is into sports, and grills and STILL it's a challenge. There are only so many golf club covers one can have.

    1. Very true! I almost always end up buying my husband clothes or tools and get my step father and father in law gift cards... but it feels so unoriginal.

  21. Happy Anniversary. Fathers Days gifts can be so hard. I'm with ya. I bought my dad a fishing pole he wanted so that was good. Last year I bought him some books because he likes to read. Etsy has neat things like wallets, or signs made from license plates. Your meals you tried looked good.
