I normally have all my posts done a full week in advance (with the exception of my Friday favorites) so it was really unlike me to have to pull this entire post together yesterday afternoon! It wasn't so much that I had forgotten about it but that I was stumped on a few of these prompts. Here goes nothing:
celebrating-- My husband and I just celebrated our 20th anniversary this past weekend with a nice 4 day trip to the White Mountains in New Hampshire.
collecting-- Lots of books on my Kindle. I have been letting all my Kindle first reads pile up as well as picking the no rush shipping whenever I can that gives me credits I put towards Kindle books. My hope is to only bring my Kindle in the car to save space.
gifting-- I'm wracking my brain trying to come up with some father's day gifts. It's so hard when most of the guys in our family are pretty non-traditional (meaning they don't drink alcohol, don't watch or play sports, don't cool or grill, etc.)
thinking-- About our upcoming trip to North Carolina. I've already begun putting together some packing lists and menu/grocery ideas for while we're there.
trying-- Lots of new recipes and foods. Just in these past few weeks alone we tried pasta primavera, making BBQ pulled chicken, and pesto shrimp with pasta.
I've been eating a big batch of squash this week! So summery.
ReplyDeleteI love squash! I think I could easily eat it several times a week.
DeleteWhere are you going in NC? We are going to visit Asheville this summer.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Asheville though my cousin does live there. We're heading to Wilmington.
DeleteSo glad y'all had a good anniversary trip! I'm with you on the Father's Day gifts...It is hard to come up with ideas.
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty fabulous; even it was cold. I'm leaning towards food gifts... like usual.
DeleteUgh, I'm struggling with Father's Day for Brian, too. He does drink and watch sports, but you can only have so much beer and University of Georgia stuff. Haha! I need to come up with something soon!
ReplyDeleteSo true!!
DeleteIt's tough to figure out gifts for my dad. He does some of the "traditional" guy things but not really enough to warrant most gifts. hah
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!

Thank you!
DeleteAww, that looked like a beautiful trip! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful! A great mix of exercise and relaxation.
DeleteHappy Happy Anniversary and so excited for you with your upcoming trip! Can't wait to read all about it!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOh boy - when thinking about gifting...I totally forgot about Father's Day!! Oy vey! Happiest annivesary wishes. I don't think I've heard of the White Mountains - but it looks fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHappy anniversary again - love a good number like 20!!!
ReplyDeleteMy kindle... oh my gosh - I forget half the books I have downloaded on it
Me too! I am awful about actually reading the books I put on there...
DeleteHappy anniversary! And enjoy your evening
ReplyDeleteLove trying new foods. Happy anniversary to you both too :) Lovely photos. Looks like you have been getting out and about a lot. Thanks so much for linking up to The Wednesday Link Up. I hope you can join us again on Friday or next week for our next parties. #TheWednesdayLinkUp
ReplyDeleteI love trying new recipes too. We've found some really good ones lately too.
DeleteIt looks like you had a nice trip! Happy anniversary to you and congratulations on 20 years!!!
ReplyDeleteWe had a really nice trip; thank you!
DeleteIt looks like you had a lovely trip away.
ReplyDeleteMy girls and I went shopping during the week and think we have all the Father's day gifts bought. Phew! x
Phew! Looks like my husband might have bought his own father's day gift so I have at least one down! LOL.
DeleteAhhh, New Hampshire....I used to spend a lot of time there and in Maine as a kid....The Kancamagus Highway, Old Man in the Mountain (poor guy fell down), the Flume and skiing Loon! You brought back sweet memories for me. Ideas for father's day can be a challenge, so what about a basket of favorite treats with a few lottery tickets tucked in?
ReplyDeleteThe poor guy did fall down! We were at Loon in 2019 for our anniversary and I try to get to Maine at least once every summer even if only for a day trip. I was thinking of a goodie basket of treats.
DeleteThese are great prompts Joanne! Congratulations on 20 years!
ReplyDeleteVisiting today from Classy Flamingos.
You're most welcome to join me in a cuppa at Tea With Jennifer,
Jennifer
Thank you!
DeleteHappy anniversary! Looks like a lovely place for a getaway. I'm all about those Kindle credits too when I'm not in a hurry to have something shipped :)
ReplyDeleteI rarely am in a hurry so it works out great for us... only problem is I have learned I need to use them up pretty quickly or my guys use them for movies.
DeleteHappy 20th Anniversary and many many more!
ReplyDeleteMy father does drink, play golf, is into sports, and grills and STILL it's a challenge. There are only so many golf club covers one can have.
Very true! I almost always end up buying my husband clothes or tools and get my step father and father in law gift cards... but it feels so unoriginal.
DeleteHappy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary. I would love to take a trip to New Hampshire one day.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful up there.
DeleteCollecting books is always a good idea. Enjoy your trip and happy anniversary.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI found the prompts more challenging this month too :) And I'm so glad you and your husband got a weekend away to celebrate!!!
ReplyDeleteI love a good challenge.
DeleteHappy Anniversary. Fathers Days gifts can be so hard. I'm with ya. I bought my dad a fishing pole he wanted so that was good. Last year I bought him some books because he likes to read. Etsy has neat things like wallets, or signs made from license plates. Your meals you tried looked good.
ReplyDeleteWe have really been lucking out on the new recipes we've been trying lately. I finally ordered most of the father's day gifts yesterday.
