Photos of the Week: May 8th

Oh boy did I struggle this week with quite a few of the prompts.  In fact 3 of my photos were taken on the same day because I finally decided I just needed to shoot SOMETHING and make it work.  All in all I am really happy with what I came up with!



-Mail I received a beautiful mother's day card in the mail from my mother in law. 



-How You Feel Today Like I was hanging on by a thread... 



-Reduce-Reuse-Recycle Every spring I reuse the same grapevine wreath to make a new floral wreath for our front door. 



-Shoot from the hip I had so much fun with the idea of shooting from the hip that I took multiple landscape images using this technique. 


-Your Choice These clusters of pinecones in the sun caught my eye while out hiking this week.

    Great pictures! I really like the one of the pinecones. And finding different angles (like shooting from the hip!) is always fun. Prompts like "how you feel today" are always really tricky for me!

    I've taken just a couple of pictures yet for this week's prompts, I might have to skip it again :(
    These are all great shots, love them all!! What a great idea to re use the same grapevine wreath, I had thought about it a few seasons ago, but then didn't do it but also never purchased another wreath so I've not decorated any more besides the one I

      As the end of the school year approaches I thought things would get easier but they feel like they are ramping up... only 5 weeks left to go AND they're suppose to return to fully in person next week so I'm hoping it will feel easier with less snafus to navigate.

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Favorite Moments and Memories of 2024

 Oh 2024... it was a challenging year for sure but we had so many fabulous moments and memories. I fully admit that many of my favorite memories this year have no pictures-- like Easter dinner with the family, Alec's acceptance day at JWU, etc. But I am more interested in being present these day then I am in getting the exact perfect photo. In January  we started the year with a big family breakfast out to lunch before my sister and nephews headed home. It's an awful picture but we were all laughing because my mom tried 4 times to get us all in there! Then a week or so later my husband and I did get to go on our cruise (we weren't sure right up until the last minute since my mother in law was in the hospital just before we left).  Roatan Grand Cayman We celebrated Alec's 18th birthday nearly a full month late in  February but he didn't mind. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Share 4 Somethings in December

Tomorrow is the last Saturday of the month and time for the Share 4 Somethings link up with Jennifer. We're flying home (if all goes well with our connections we should be home tomorrow morning-- though I am REALLY worried about the "adjustment" the airline company made so we now have a much shorter connection time than we planned!) so this wrap up is pretty much all about our trip to Hawaii!  Once again we'll be sharing some things we've  loved and/or disliked, accomplished, some things we've improved upon and/or that need improvement, and noticed.
