What's Up Wednesday: March 2021

Since it's already the last Wednesday of the month I am linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What's Up Wednesday.  Spring is officially here! We've changed our clocks and we're dreaming about spring vacation day trips, beach days, and enjoying more time outside.  What We're Eating This Week:  I shared our monthly meal plan on Monday but here's what we'll be eating this week: Sunday - Weight Watcher's Turkey Pot pie Monday- Pesto pasta with mixed veggies Tuesday- - Pretzel crusted chicken with broccoli and jasmine rice-- A new recipe I'm trying out.  Wednesday-- Unsloppy joes with butternut squash fries & salad Thursday-- Pork tenderloin with couscous and green beans Friday-- Shrimp scampi over spaghetti-- another new recipe! Books I Read in March

 I had another great reading month! I read a good variety of books and found so many that I really enjoyed reading.   1.  Anxious People by Fredrik Backman - - I enjoyed this cute and quirky story.  Part bank robbery gone wrong, hostages that aren't really hostages and become friends, part mystery and just a bit silly too.  It was a fun and quick read.  I found myself rooting for the robber and making some pretty good guesses as to how these stories were going to intertwine.  Not my favorite but definitely an enjoyable read. 2.  Sprinkle with Murder (Cupcake Bakery Mystery book #1) by Jenn McKinlay -- I picked up this series back in the fall with book #12- Pumpkin Spice Peril and really enjoyed the story.  I knew I wanted to start the series from the beginning.  In this first book Mel and Angie have just opened their cupcake shop and their best friend wants his wedding to be their first big gig.  Only problem is that his brid...

6 Month Post-Op Update

 I debated about even writing up this post because I'm honestly worried that my readers are sick of hearing about my health!  I know I was getting that way! But it dawned on me last Friday that it has been 6 months since I had my hysterectomy and I am happy to report that I am feeling fantastic!  Those 6 months flew right by.   In case you aren't a long time reader of my blog I had a partial hysterectomy back at the end of September 2020.  I had been seeing my doctor for problems with uterine polyps, ovarian cysts, and uterine fibroids for over a year at that point.  They removed my fallopian tubes, uterus, and cervix.  In December of 2019 I had a DNC outpatient procedure to remove the very large uterine polyp and by February I was back in his office telling him that hadn't done the trick.  Then the pandemic hit and everything shut down so that by the time I talked to my doctor again we both agreed a hysterectomy was my best course of action....
