What I've Been Priming Lately
I honestly thought that once the holidays were behind us our Amazon account would get a little break but both Ian and Evan needed some new school books (you can read about what we added to their year here and here), I had 3 birthdays to buy gifts for in January, and I had quite a few home organization projects that I wanted to tackle and needed supplies for.
Ian had damaged his 4 wheeler in a small crash in mid- December and needed some new parts to fix it; which we were able to find on Amazon. Then when I added in the stuff that the boys bought for themselves using Christmas gift cards I realized our account got quite a workout this past month!
Here are some of the highlights:
Our home phone has been having real issues and not working more often than actually working and since we all have cell phones others than Evan we decided to just buy him one and do away with the home phone altogether. We bought him this Otterbox to protect his new phone.
I treated myself to this cute sweater for Valentine's day. I bought it in navy/white and I just love it.
Though Alec has read this series more times than I could probably count he didn't own book 1, 2, & Darkstalker but he really really wanted them. So I bought them for him for his birthday. Now he owns them all and can read them over and over and over again.
I also bought Alec some new sweatpants; we just love that these come in longer lengths and fit him so well! (I also found Medium Tall sized pajama pants and everyday long sleeved shirts through Kohl's that I bought him which also fit very well).
I re-organized our bathroom closet using these bins. They were perfectly sized to fit our shelves and I love how the clear container makes it so easy to see everything.
I gave our living/dining room a re-fresh with some new curtains (our old ones were 17 years old!), a couple of new throw pillows (Covers: here, here, Pillow forms: here), and a new tablecloth.
We needed a new cutting board for the kitchen and a new pineapple corer. We used our last corer so much we wore out the blade. I am not even exaggerating when I say that we typically cut up anywhere from 4-6 pineapples a week! This tool is so darn handy and makes quick work of it.
Evan bought himself the Avatar: The Last Airbender graphic novel series (well 3 of the books that make up The Promise saga anyway) & the latest Wings of Fire graphic novel too.
I bought myself an art book hoping to jump start my creative juices. Given how much nature inspires my photos I thought I would really enjoy the 365 Days of Art in Nature book.
I also realized this winter that I missed seeing all the birds that used to come to our window feeder before it broke so I bought a new one and while we are still waiting for the birds to find it I really like how well it is made.
What have you been Priming?

Love that sweater- adorable!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love that sweater! And I'm going to see if Sam has read that series. I think he'd like it. I love pineapple but if I eat too much it hurts my tongue. Sadness :(
ReplyDeleteOh I am so glad I don't have that problem (my sister does though!). I eat a lot of pineapple since it is one of my all time favorite fruits.
DeleteThat sweater is so cute! And I love the bird feeder. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Now if only we can get the birds to actually use it!
DeleteThat sweater is adorable!! The bird feeder is so fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThat is a cute sweater. If I did a list for the last month it would be mostly books. #MMBC
ReplyDeleteI try really hard to get books through the library and not buy too many of them as we are all voracious readers. But my younger two boys prefer to own books so they can read their favorites over and over and over again.
DeleteAmazon is the best for finding parts for various projects! Last month I bought vacuum filters and a water panel filter for our central humidifier. Nothing cute like that sweater and those pillow covers!
ReplyDeleteThey are the best! It's pretty rare that they don't have what I'm looking for.
DeleteI've been wanting a bird feeder for awhile! I need to organize my pantry but I don't want to spend the money on the bins.
ReplyDeleteI didn't want to either... but I am glad I did as it really has made such a huge difference.
DeleteThe window feeder looks delightful. I can imagine it's fun spotting the birds that visit. I LOVE the jumper you purchased. Unfortunately it seems to be sold out now :( #MMBC
ReplyDeleteI haven't yet seen any birds at our feeder but am hopeful they'll discover it soon. I had that sweater on my wishlist for an entire year since it was sold out last February when I went to order it too!
DeleteOkay, I am going to ask it. Why do you cut so many pineapples each week?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love that bird feeder!
We eat that many of them! We cut them up two at a time and leave them in a container in our fridge. There are always three bins stacked-- one with grapes, one with strawberries & blueberries, and one with pineapple. My go to breakfast each morning is to mix a bit of each type of fruit with a tiny bit of granola and possibly some fat free plain yogurt. My boys eat a lot more fruit now that it's ready to grab and go so anytime one of the containers is empty we just refill it.
DeleteSuch great finds!! The pillow covers are my favorites and also loving the tablecloth! I'd love to get a couple new ones to use! I had a pineapple corer once but think I donated it. I never was able to use it, maybe it was a user problem. It looked just like the one you purchased but mine wasn't from Amazon.
ReplyDeleteI love my new tablecloth so much! I used to have one on there that I bought only because it fit but I never really liked it. This light blue one makes me smile each time I see it.
DeleteI love that sweater!
ReplyDeleteI love the sweater that you chose. Glad you treated yourself. So many good and random finds for you last month!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI also love that sweater and added the art book to my list. My daughter is an artist and would love this. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteThe dining room looks cozy and clean with those blue accessories.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I just love it!
DeleteI like the art book you bought and I have a book similar that one. Your closet looks so nice now with those bins.
ReplyDeleteI think I got the idea from you with that art book!
DeleteI have that same sweater (in gray though) and wore it twice this past week. I break it out a lot around February. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think I have easily worn it 4 times already!
Deletethe heart top is so cute, what a nice buy! You definitely got a lot of useful things this month :)
ReplyDeleteHope that your week is off to a good start :)

Thank you!
DeleteI really do need that bird feeder in front of my window while I'm working from home!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally checking out that nature art book too - I've been looking for some help with drawing/doodling for my planner
They had lots of fun designs to pick from with that art book.
DeleteI'm always priming! haha I have those same plastic bins and love them. I use mine in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteOh me too!
DeleteI was interested in reading the book 'Wings Fire' ... I think this fictional story is fun to read.
ReplyDeleteGreetings
It is a fun series.
DeleteI love the sweater! And I really want that bird feeder.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I just wore that sweater today.
DeleteI can totally relate at how happy it makes me to find pants that come in talls! And really....my life would not be the same without that pineapple corer!
ReplyDeleteIt's so much easier to find big & tall in men's but skinny & tall are so tough.
DeleteYou did have a good Amazon month! I have that sweater in white/red, but I love the navy/white combo! You got a bunch of great books too! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteLove the sweater!! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThat sweater is perfect for Valentine's Day and I am so glad you treated yourself to it, you deserve it! I need to look into those sweatpants. My younger son is so tall and so many pants are too short.
ReplyDeletexo,
Kellyann
I don't understand why even going up a size in sweatpants they still seem to keep the same length! It's so hard to find longer sweatpants. Poor Alec used to look like he was wearing capri pants they were so short.
DeleteLove the sweater - so cute. I've never seen a bird feeder like that one, but it's nice. I need to get a new one.

Thank you!
DeleteWe don't have a home phone line and don't miss it at all! Great finds this month - what a cool birdfeeder! Thanks for linking up with Prime Purchases! Tanya - The Other Side of the Road
ReplyDeleteI don't miss it all either; though I did have to stop and think the other day when giving my phone number out at the doctor's office as I have had that same phone number since I was like 16!
DeleteDarling sweater. Can't wait to see it on you. I want to make pine cone bird feeders with my granddaughter if I can ever be with her long enough to do that. I have a hummingbird feeder but I don't think they care for my syrup!!
ReplyDeleteWe loved making pinecone bird feeders when my boys were smaller. We had to put our hummingbird feeder away for the winter but I can't wait to bring it back out this spring.
DeleteSuch a cute sweater! I've been doing lots of organizing too with similar containers. I need to update our bird feeders.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's nice and comfy too.
