10 Questions and Answers All About Love
This month's 10 on the 10th is all about love; so fitting with Valentine's day right around the corner. Let's dive in!
1. How romantic are you? I am an absolute hopeless romantic! I love reading romance novels, planning special outings & meals, and long walks on the beach.
2. What's the best relationship advice? Never go to bed angry (though I must admit I don't always follow that one).
3. When did you give your first kiss? How did you feel about? At what age did you begin dating? Oh goodness, I really don't remember any of these! I think my first real kiss was in 8th grade and I remember mostly being quite nervous. Otherwise a little peck on the cheek/ lips I'd probably have to say kindergarten. I was a hopeless flirt all through school! I can remember going on group dates in middle school to the movies and stuff but I don't think I was allowed to officially date one on one until I was older.
4. What makes a relationship healthy? Open communication, mutual respect and understanding, compassion, and friendship... just to name a few things.
5. What is your love language? What is your partner's? So, I just wrote a post about this yesterday! Though many of the languages are nearly evenly matched it said my top love language was physical touch and I'd have to guess that it's my husband's as well. We are almost always holding hands and can't seem to walk by one another without a shoulder graze, or a quick little pat on the bum, or a tousle of hair.
6. Who is one couple you know that you admire in terms of love? Though they have both passed away I'd have to say my grandparents. They were always together; even when my grandfather would take us shopping and sit in the car (for the whole entire day! while we shopped). They seemed like such opposites and I always marveled that they were together for so very long and seemed quite happy.
7. Who is your favorite celebrity or fictional couple? I really don't follow celebrity couples at all so I am stumped with this one...
8. Name a flavor of food you love. A Scent you love. An activity you love doing. Anything chocolate! I love the smell of cinnamon/ sugar. And hiking is probably one of my favorite activities.
9. Do you believe in love at first sight? Do you think people are made for each other as soul mates? I don't believe in love at first sight; I think that is more of a lust type feeling that can definitely grow into love but how can you love what you don't know? I kind of believe in soul mates. I mean I like to think they exist but don't necessarily believe that there is only one right person for everyone.
10. In a Covid- free world where money is no object what would you like to do for Valentine's Day weekend? Anywhere tropical, warm, and sunny where I could stick my toes in the sand!

DeleteYes, yes, yes to going somewhere tropical, sandy and warm. We have snow forecast for the weekend. I hope we get a really nice accumulation and then it can be spring!!
ReplyDeleteI really like that you guys are always holding hands or touching somehow. I guess PC and I do touch while we are sitting on the couch or at the movies, or in the car. But we don't kiss as much as I would like!!
Sounds like your grandparents were well suited if even they weren't exactly the same personalities. Maybe that's why they worked s well. That whole opposites attract thing. I never knew either grandfather - boo.
Several gals mentioned mutual respect as being important to a relationship. I totally forgot that one!! But it is so vital. And I think PC and I do have respect for each other.
Thanks so much for joining me!!
Thanks so much for hosting! We have snow in the forecast for the weekend too but I will be just fine with it passing us by; we have plenty on the ground already.

DeleteI never understood the obsession with celebrity couples. Sometimes it's so weird to think about following a relationship of total strangers. Though I do love the Obamas. I like this little glimpse into your life, I'm excited to read about your Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteI really don't follow much of anything with celebrities... other than loving to see "inside" their homes.
DeleteAw, lovely post Joanne. I am a hopeless romantic too! And I definitely believe in soulmates, I certainly found mine.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend. x
Thank you. I certainly found mine too.
DeleteLoved your answers, Joanne, great to see you here. I've got some blog-writing and reading to catch up on and I love that Leslie has posted the details for 10 on the 10th for the whole year.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I like to plan blog posts ahead of time (as much as possible).
DeleteJoanne, this was so fun to read! I wrote a little about love languages on my post for today prompted by your love language post the other day. My husband and I always hold hands in public or even driving in the car, one of us will reach for the other even if it is just to lie a hand on the other's leg. Words of affirmation are my best love language but physical touch comes in a close second.

That's how we are too; we've even had people comment on it before but those little touches mean a lot.
