Baby It's Cold Outside Wall Hanging

This month's Pinterest challenge was all about New Years and Winter.  I struggled for awhile to find a project idea.  I went searching on Pinterest for winter home décor, winter crafts, winter recipes, etc.   I loved the look of this winter living room/mantle scape and thought I could make a similar looking sign.

Then I remembered I had this sign (that I bought at Michael's one day) in my collection of crafting supplies and I thought it would be perfect to use.

I had already downloaded a free SVG file when I was working on Christmas gifts (using this pin) and thought it would be perfect with an all white color scheme (and I removed the antlers).

I sized the file to fit my sign and added in a few additional snowflakes to fill in empty spots.  I cut it out using my Cricut, some white iron-on vinyl, and my extra long cutting mat.

I weeded my design and used my iron to iron the design onto the chalkboard.  It did get really hot quite fast so I had to work quickly.

I just love how it turned out!

    1. I hadn't planned on ironing it on either but I had run out of plain white sticky back vinyl so I thought I'd give it a try.

  14. Oh, this is so pretty! One of my friends is a teacher and she invested in a Cricut so that she could use it to decorate her classroom bulletin board. Her creations are so beautiful. Have a very Blessed and beautiful Christmas! PS Sorry for the delete above--spelling error I caught too late

  15. That is just adorable! I've been thinking about getting a Cricut since I've had the crafting bug lately. I decided to see if its temporary or if it's going to stick.

  16. What a lot of fun! I haven't tried HTV on chalkboard, but I don't know why it wouldn't work, I've seen people put it on wood. The end result is wonderful :) Stay warm!

    2. How did you iron it onto the board? Did you use an actual iron? Or the Cricut iron?

    3. I use an actual iron as I have not bothered investing in the Cricut one yet.
