Let's Look at School Pictures
(re-posted & edited from Sept 18, 2017)
When I saw the subject for this week's link up I just knew I had to visit my mom and look through all my old school pictures.
While we were unable to find ALL my old school pictures, my mom and I had a great time looking through several really large boxes of family pictures. I even saw photos of my mom from 8th grade and her class photos!
I do know that I don't have any really horrible school photos; mostly because I was the type of kid who would hide them if I thought I looked awful in them. In fact I distinctly remember my mom giving up on having my school pictures taken at some point in upper middle school and breaking down to take me to a photography studio each year. I guess she figured even though it might be a bit more money at least she'd get to see the pictures and could hang them on the wall without me pitching a fit.
Here are the ones we were able to find:
Kindergarten:
First Grade: I'm the third one in from the left on the bottom row with the white ruffles and black velvet dress.
Grade 2:
Grade 4:
College:

We couldn't find my high school portrait but we did find two of my prom photos (I made both my prom dresses) & yes, my husband was my prom date.

Linking Up With: On the Edge,
Love this! You have always been precious!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteThat was a fun walk down memory lane!! My girls love looking at hold pictures of me when they go to my parents.
ReplyDeleteMy boys don't really seem to care all that much though my middle son has been looking through my photos from my high school Paris trip (I think he's more interested in Paris than in me).
DeleteThese are great! Sometimes I wish I had mine handy...but maybe not...ha!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I'm glad my mom kept them or I might have been tempted to get rid of mine and really that would have been awful.
DeleteFun! I had an awful 6th and 7th grade photo. I wonder if I still have copies!
ReplyDeleteThat might be why I have a few years missing... I know I often hid the photos from my mom (or if I liked the photo would give away a bunch at school before she ever got to see them... )
DeleteI can't believe you made both your prom dresses!!! You're so talented. What a great post and fun walk down memory lane. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYep! I even debated about making my own wedding dress!
DeleteGood grief, woman, you haven't changed at all. Still wearing that beautiful, sweet smile!! How special that your prom date is now your husband. I had a very sweet high school boyfriend who got off track after we graduated. Wouldn't undo our relationship but there are some frogs between him and my Prince C. that I would undo in a heartbeat!!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I have heard that from a few people I've gone to school with-- of course I notice every little change and just don't see it.
DeleteThis is the sweetest post ever! LOVE seeing all your school photos! And I love even more that you and your hubby were high school prom/sweethearts!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is fun that we have so many memories together to look back on... I should have found HIS prom pictures. I'm sporting a lovely home dye job where my hair looks nearly black! It took a few months for my hairdresser to fix that.
DeleteLove that you and your husband are high school sweethearts! Such sweet memories.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteWhat a fun walk down memory lane. So impressed that you made your prom dresses. I think I had that same haircut in 4th grade! ;)
ReplyDeleteMy mom was sick of trying to comb & brush my long hair while I cried and threw a fit so she cut it nice and short!
DeleteSuch great pictures and wonderful memories to look back at!
ReplyDeleteI love this post! The 4th grade haircut you had I had too but I think I was a little younger. Being from Texas and growing up in the 80s, I had several years of big hair!
ReplyDeleteI definitely remember having some pretty big 80's hair too.
DeleteAw, Joanne, that was so fun! I love old photos like this. I have a lot of really bad school pictures! But I doubt I could find all of my school pictures at this point. I have a few in a Facebook album with my high school and college graduation photos. And while I did not make my prom dress, I did present the image of what I wanted to my mom and she made my prom dress. I have two pictures floating around and that's it! Thanks for sharing this fun post on my link up.

My mom had a huge hand in helping me with my sewing! I was good on cutting, straight seams, etc but she did most of the hard parts like helping to alter the pattern to my vision and sewing in the zippers. Thankfully my mom saved all our family photos in a large box and knew where to find a bunch of them as I have very few photos from my childhood hanging around my house.
