Fall Home Tour 2020

I made sure to change up a few things in our decorating this year. I did buy a few new things at Michael's and made a few new decorations so that made it easier and so much fun to try out some new arrangements.

I still need to purchase some mums for the front steps but I typically wait until just a bit later in Sept.; other than that I think we are ready to welcome fall into our home.

I pulled all the fall decor into one room and worked from there to make interesting little groupings.

My paper/vellum luminary I made last week (following these instructions).

The faux pumpkin centerpiece I shared earlier is perfect on our dining room table.

A few of my new Michael's purchases made their way onto my kitchen windowsill.

I used my old garland on the mantle with a few new touches here and there (our mason jar luminaries have made it through 5 falls now!).

I paired another fabulous smelling candle I picked up with this adorable pumpkin/pine cone potpourri for a very quick an simple centerpiece on our coffee table.

I repurposed last year's wreath with some white plastic pumpkins; with a few mums this will be a beautiful entrance to our home.

I'm still using my reversible Autumn sign with a few more pumpkins to decorate the corner of the porch.  I might add a mum or two here as well.

My Dollar Tree re-make has found a temporary home in the garden (I'm trying to think of a place to move it to that will keep it safe from the elemets).   A tutorial for this sign will be on the blog Monday.

Back inside I put a few fall throw pillows around.  I just love the saying and the colors.

Another cozy corner on this end table.

The inside of the front door is the perfect place to hang this sign.

  4. So pretty!! Thank you for sharing with us. I have finally taken my summer decor down, now that we have dipped below triple digits. And I am going to get our fall decorations up this week. Thanks for the inspiration. I like the way you created little still lives or arrangements. Really like the little truck from Michael's. Might need to run by there myself. Do you plant your mums each year or just have a basket or planter full of the them for fall? I can't keep them alive.

    1. I definitely do not plant my mums; I buy a few large containers (usually from the apple orchard) and try to keep them alive for as long as I can... which I usually about a month. I'm not great with plants and I never remember to bring them in on frosty nights.

    1. I feel like the weather turned as soon as I decorated! It really does feel like fall most mornings.

  6. I love that luminary! So pretty. Most of our fall stuff is out too. Usually I put MSU stuff up, but since the BIG 10 cancelled (or "postponed") the season I just couldn't do it.

    1. That luminary nearly cost me my mind so I hope it lasts for a few falls at least. I'll have to be extra careful while packing it away.

    1. I love pillows too but rarely buy them as my whole family hates them and tends to throw them on the ground. I can get away with pillows in the more formal living area since no one really uses those chairs.

    1. Thank you! I think it's cool enough for mums here but I know that I can only keep them alive for a few weeks... I just have zero luck with them.

  13. So many cute touches! I really like the sign your repurposed out front. And the Autumn sign for the porch...the leaves just add a little bit extra that is so nice!

    1. Thanks! I love my blue door. I've repainted it three times and every time it's such a similar shade of blue that no one has even noticed I repainted! LOL.
