Fall Book and Movie Ideas
This week for the Fall Favorites link up we're talking all about fall entertainment-- our favorite books, movies, TV shows, music, etc. that makes us think of fall. I had such a tough time putting this list together but it was so fun! I just love a good challenge!
Other than summer and Christmas, I don't often think of books as having a "season" but when I started digging and thinking I realized I wanted to divide this list into two--
MY favorite fall books:
The Geometry of Sisters by Luanne Rice-- After the loss of her husband and daughter, Maura moves back to Rhode Island to take a job teaching at a private school hoping for a new start for herself, her daughter Beck, and her son Travis.
A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson-- Now I'm not sure when this story takes place but I think of hiking when I think of fall and this non-fiction novel about Bill's trip trying to hike the Appalachian trail is one of my all time favorite novels.
Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult-- When a dead baby is found in an Amish barn, Ellie finds a client who truly needs her help. Katie Fisher is an 18 year old Amish girl who has been arrested for the murder of her baby. In order to truly help her client, Ellie immerses herself in Katie's world learning what it means to be plain.
Dear Bob and Sue- While most of this book does not take place in the fall I do often think of hiking and National parks when I think of fall and this book is a great & fun story of one couple's experiences visiting all 59 US Parks.
Pumpkin Spice Peril by Jenn McKinlay (this whole series sounds cute and I just love a book that includes recipes!)
Linking Up With: On the Edge,
This is fantastic, I'm taking notes! I've read First Frost, Sarah Addison Allen is wonderful.

I have that one in my book basket right now and can't wait to read it.
DeleteDid you watch Father of the Bride Part 3ish on Netflix YouTube channel on Friday?? SO CUTE. It should still be up there. It's only a 30 minute special but we loved it. So good to see everyone. :)
ReplyDeleteNo but it is on my list to watch!
DeleteAlso, I loved all your movies. Baby Boom was one of my all time favorite movies too.
ReplyDeleteI realized as I wrote this list up that I hadn't shared some of these movies with my boys yet so we'll have to find these oldies but goodies.
DeleteI have read and enjoyed a couple of books about cozy kitchens or bakeries that shared recipes, too. They always make me hungry, though.
ReplyDeleteYes, I just read a book with recipes in it and I wanted to try making just about all of them.
DeleteSo many great recommendations! I am hoping for more time to relax in front of a screen...
ReplyDeleteI'm spending lots of time in bed the next few days so I'm looking forward to seeing what others will be sharing in the link-up this week.
DeleteNow I just want to stay home and watch movies and read books all day!
ReplyDeleteThat's my plan!
DeleteI have read Mckinlay's library cozy mystery series and it's so fun. Thanks for all these recommendations. I'm pinning for later!
ReplyDeleteGood to know! Thank you. It looks like a cute series.
DeleteOh I LOVE Stepmom. I cry like a baby every single time I watch it. What a great movie. And FOB is one of my favorites of all time! Never ever gets old!
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteGreat suggestions! I have The Bakeshop at Pumpkin and Spice and enjoyed it last fall!
ReplyDeleteI have that one on hold waiting to be picked up.
DeleteI'm definitely writing down your book recommendations! I need some autumn reads.
ReplyDeleteFather of the Bride is simply one of the best movies ever!
I completely agree!

You're welcome! I hope you find a good book soon; I hate when I'm floundering around trying to find something to read that I just don't want to put down.
