Early Fall Fashions

This time of year our weather is all over the place.  It's not uncommon to wake up to weather in the low 60's or high 50's but then it warms up to near 80 during the day.  It can be a challenge to get dressed with a 20 degree difference in the day.  This time of year I am all about layers!

Here are a few outfits I've been wearing this past month-- notice that in most of them I am still wearing flip flops.  It's not unusual for me to wear them right up to our first frost or even snowstorm!

A cardigan with a tank top, jeans, and booties:

That same cardigan came in handy with my jumpsuit another day.

I found this long cardigan on my birthday shopping trip and was so happy to have a chance to finally wear it. Paired with a t-shirt and capri pants it was a comfy outfit.

On cooler cloudy days where our weather doesn't war up much I was happy to pull out another new sweater I had gotten for my birthday and paired it with the comfiest pair of yoga pants I own.

I have a few short sleeved sweaters and they come in real handy this time of year!

I have been trying to get myself to wear more skirts and dresses.  I found that pairing summer skirts with tank tops and cardigans work well for early fall.

Another capri pants/ long sleeve outfit.

Another day I paired my skirt with a t-shirt and denim jacket.

But when I woke up one day last week and it was 44 degrees out it was time for actual fall clothes!

  2. I love your autumn looks, I'm definitely a sweater soft trousers sort of person, but it's nice to mix things up sometimes with a skirt.

    1. I rarely think to pull out skirts or dresses at all regardless of the weather but I am trying to use the few I do have more and more.

    1. Yes, it's nuts! We only live about an hour outside Boston so I have to think our temperatures must be pretty similar.

  9. Love so many of these outfits. I especially love the denim jacket. I almost bought one last year, but it just made me look fat so I didn't get it. Love the grey striped cardigan! Cardigans are more my speed since I get hot in real sweaters.

  12. I'm discovering that my cardigans are really my transition piece this fall. I have a love/hate relationship with the daily temperature fluctuations.

  13. Yesssss, all the layers for this time of year. Although it seems to be fully 'fall' weather as I type this. Love that white, green and blue sweater - that color combo is one of my favorites!
