Encouraging Hearts and Home: Fall Is Here
With the official arrival of fall, all of my features from last week's party center around the tastes of fall. I love this time of year with the leaves changing colors, donning cozy sweaters, and all those delicious comfort foods. How about you? What's you favorite part of fall?
Since it's the last Thursday of the month I'm also joining in with Holly and Patty for their Monthly Musings:
1. My favorite fall tradition has got to be going apple picking and making up apple treats together as a family.
2. Our favorite Halloween tradition that we just started two years ago is getting together with some friends of our for a hike. For the past two years we've hiked in the same spot and it's just beautiful with all the leaves changing colors.
3. This Halloween I'm still hoping to get in our hike and we'll spend the night watching a movie and chowing down on some candy.
4. My favorite fall recipe-- Oh boy it's so hard to pick just one! I guess I'd have to say it's just not fall without whipping up a homemade apple pie using my mom's recipe. You can check out some of our other favorite fall recipes in this post.
5. My favorite fall fashion staple has got to be sweaters! I wear one just about every single day.
6. I actually do not enjoy dressing up at all so I don't have a favorite Halloween costume but I always prefer the pretty and/or cute ones to any of the scary and/or bloody looking ones.
7. My favorite Halloween candy is a toss up between Kit Kats and Reece's PB cups.
8. Our family does not have a favorite Halloween movie; we started watching them together a few years ago and just have not found one that we all enjoy. Hocus Pocus was a huge bust! I'm thinking if we had to pick one it would be Adam's Family.
9. No scary movies for me please. I have never been a fan of them as I scare way too easily.
10. My favorite fall beverage is raspberry hot cocoa.

Thank you for joining us.
DeleteI am so excited for apple picking and fall colors!
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteLooking super cute in your sweater weather outfit! I wished I wasn't so hot-natured so that I could wear cute sweaters. I need to go do this post since I've seen so many blog friends sharing it.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am almost always cold.
DeleteI love sweaters but it's still in the 90's here! So hot and smoky. I love all your great answers... million dollar bar with it's crunch like kit kats but with caramel is my fave. Your apple pie looks so good!
ReplyDeleteLeeAnna at not afraid of color
We have been having an unusually cool early fall here. This is the second time today I've heard of these million dollar bars and I need to find one ASAP! They sound amazing.
DeleteHalloween was my favorite holiday when the kids were little, but now that they are grown I don't do anything other than make the grandkids some cards and send them some treats. And I agree with you on the scary movies! I hate seeing all the ads for them this time of the year too! Thanks for the party.
ReplyDeleteI don't like seeing the ads for them either. LOL
DeleteI too like wearing sweaters during the fall and winter months. Thanks for hosting the fun and have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteThey're so cozy!
DeleteSuper cute sweater! I love them too - wear them all the time! So wish I could master homemade apple pie...it looks so yummy and my hubbie would be oh so happy!:)
ReplyDeleteI find the hardest part of the pie is making the crust.
DeleteI enjoyed your fall musings. Throwing a sweater or sweatshirt over sweatpants or leggings is perfect for these coronavirus times!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree.
DeleteI love Autumn too! It is actually my favorite season. Thank you for hosting! I'll be following you on pinterest :) Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteOh great! Thanks for following me on Pinterest.
DeleteI like the Land o Lakes Chocolate Mint cocoa. What a fun fall list!
ReplyDeleteThe mint one is good too; that my youngest son's favorite.
DeleteI would love to sit on that branch of the tree and look at all the autumnal colours. Everything is still very brown from the summer over here. Thanks for hosting!

ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us.
DeleteAll those apple treats sound delicious and I love most anything made with butternut squash ravioli.
ReplyDeleteYou thought Hocus Pocus was a bust?!?! I love that movie!! I love sweaters in the fall so much, and that place you hiked to looks amazing!! :)
ReplyDeleteYep, my boys HATED it!
DeleteDon't think I have ever gone apple-picking. And last year was my first pumpkin-picking experience. Know what I like best about this post...aside from the delicious apple pie and you in that darling sweater? I love the photos. The photo of the candy is so colorful and bright. And the shot of the kids on the log could be a poster or card.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteOh, I LOVE the idea of a Hallowe'en hike!
