How I Did on My August Goals & Setting September's Goals
It's nearly the end of the month and time to check in and see how I did with my goals before setting new goals for September. August was a super hot month and we saw so many changes on what back to school would look like that I just gave up on planning anything. I didn't even remember what goals I had set for myself and while I kept meaning to check on them.. I just kind of forgot. All in all though I did pretty good!
My August Goals:
Get Alec all settled and ready to start at his new school-- Check, I guess? They haven't started yet and won't until this coming week but I think we are as ready as we can be with his uniforms cleaned, new backpack and lunch box, & a quasi schedule in place.
Begin school with the other two boys- Nope! Our plan was to start homeschooling when Alec started school but the start date got pushed back a few days so we'll start next month.
Take Ian to get his learner's permit-- Check! He passed with flying colors on his first try and was so relieved!
Celebrate my niece's & nephew's birthdays-- 1/2 a check?! We did get them gifts but we couldn't make it to the party as a family. The party was held on the weekend the boys were all sick with colds and I just could not see arriving with three kids blowing their noses and coughing. My husband and I went and within 45 minutes or so it was raining. We waited out the storm under a tent but it didn't really let up until it was time to go home and cook dinner so we didn't get any cake or see them open gifts. We were there but it didn't really feel like it. LOL
Have my mother in law over for her birthday-- Check! Alec and I made a delicious tiramisu for her too.
Keep tracking food, water intake, and exercise on the Weight Watchers app-- Sort of. I did track most days but I did awful at actually caring about staying within my point range on any given week. Somehow my weight has not gone up though so I'll take it!
Host a small birthday party for Evan-- Check! He had a wonderful party at our house with just five of his friends.

Plan one last weekend trip; either for just Ben and I or with the kids-- Nope! Our Weekends filled up so fast (with three birthday parties on 3 different weekends) that we just never had time for this. Ben and I did enjoy a whole day away hiking though.

September's Goals:
Drive Alec to school his first few days and get a routine down.
Start school with the other two boys.
Get Ian into driver's ed and attend first class with him (like required)
Celebrate Evan's birthday with family
Try to find a new primary care physician and schedule a physical for me.
Figure out what to do with Alec & karate since he's no longer available on Tuesday mornings.
Get back into hiking with our hiking group.
Exercise every weekday and track both food and water with WW app.
Decorate house for fall.
Start cleaning up patio and putting away summer furniture.
Organize Alec's dresser to fit his uniform clothes & everyday clothes.
Get my surgery taken care of and focus on my recovery.

Congrats on the learner's permit! And that dessert looks so good!
ReplyDeleteThanks! He is so excited and drives his father to and from work everyday; he's already driven on the highway too!
DeleteMy main goal right now is getting into the school routines!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Though I don't know if that's even possible the way Alec's changes every few days.
DeleteEvery single thing seems to be more complicated than usual this fall. I enjoyed reading about your goals!
ReplyDeleteIt definitely does!
DeleteI hope your surgery goes well and that you have a speedy recovery! It sounds like you will have a lot on your plate this September.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you! We sure do and I am trying so so hard not to stress about any of it.... failing, but trying.
DeleteThe school year keeps changing and so I can't even think to make September goals beyond "Survive!" I think you did a good job with your August goals so way to go!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm pretty much planning Sept. one day at a time and just hoping to get through it!
DeleteYou did really great with your August goals, Joanne. I just went for my physical and now I am waiting for the blood work results just to make sure all is fine. I think my goals this month are mostly appointments and getting the kids structured for school. Thanks for linking up with me.

My main goal is just to survive the month! LOL. I feel like we have so much going on that I'm just taking it one day at a time and I'm kind of hoping it flies by nice and fast.
DeleteThanks so much for linking up with me at my #UnlimitedMonthlyLinkParty 16, open until September 26!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting!
