Encouraging Hearts and Home & April Monthly Musings

Another month has come and gone and while there were times this month felt like it was 365 days long in and of itself it's still amazing to me that we are already starting the 5th month of our year.  May tends to be one of my favorite months as it usually means warmer weather, budding trees, and the more time spent outside.  It's typically when we're finishing up our school year and looking for some fun things to do.

Before we get to today's link up, I wanted to participate in this month's musings:

1.  My 5 must have items for spring and summer include sandals/ flip flops, tank tops in a variety of colors, sunglasses, books!, and sunscreen/ bug spray.

2. My favorite foot wear is definitely flip flops.

3. It's not easy transitioning my wardrobe from one season to the next since our weather tends to be all over the place in spring (I was wearing a turtleneck and wool sweater on Monday)... but I usually start with short sleeves and flip flop with my pants and jeans and maybe even a cardigan before it warms up enough to add in capri pants and shorts.

4. My favorite colors tends to be all shades of blue and teal.

5. I like Lily Pulitzer but don't own one single item.. I'm sure it's not all that surprising that I like her blue tones: Toile Me About it and Beach Happy.

6. I don't own white jeans... in fact I'm not sure I've ever owned white jeans (or shorts or bottoms).

7. Staying at home I have been wearing the same things as usual since I've pretty much always stayed home.  I have worked really hard to keep life feeling as normally as possible.

8.  I'd say I'm pretty tied with both the maxi dress and romper; wearing them occasionally but not very often and owning only 1 of each.

9. Flip flops; my answer is always flip flops!  :)

10. I haven't made any banana bread this month since I don't eat it but I do have a favorite Betty Crocker recipe I use to make it for my husband and oldest son (often with peanut butter cups, chocolate chips or other mix-ins added in).

    1. They're the best! My husband and mother in law are always amazed that I even wear them all day/week at Disney. To me, they are the most comfortable shoes ever.

  7. My first Lily Pulitzer purchase was made at Goodwill. A skirt for $3.99! I have since added a few other things but I always buy them on clearance with birthday money. I have a hard time believing it's the 5th month of the year too!
