30 Days of Thankful

Each year for the month of November I turn my Facebook page into a list of gratitude and list one thing each day I am thankful for.  This year as I've gotten away from Facebook I decided to write up a blog post; working on just one though each day.  Here are just a few of things I have been so thankful for this month.

1.  Thankful for our amazing field trip to the Firemen's Museum. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and it took us over 2 hours to tour this little museum listening to all his wonderful stories!

2.  So thankful that even though we had a funeral to attend this lovely lady got to enjoy 98 years on this Earth with her big, loving family.

Had to take a photo while we were all dressed up; it's not often this big guy isn't wearing work clothes!

3.  After a lovely 2 1/2 hour hike with the boys my husband and I enjoyed a date night out at the Publik House!  So thankful that we get to enjoy these date nights much more often now that the boys are older.

4.  We are so thankful to have found a group of like minded friends who enjoy hiking as much as we do!

5.  Thankful for my wonderful boys!  We got our family pictures back today and I could not love them more.

6.  I reached a new low weight today and was so thrilled and thankful that my hard work is still paying off.

7.  Ian made it through his wisdom teeth surgery with no problems; we were warned he'll be in a lot of pain and have a substantial amount of swelling but I am so thankful that is behind us and the healing can begin.

8.  I am so thankful for pretty things, like these flowers, that brighten my day.

9.  Ian and Alec headed off to work with my husband, I am so thankful we're raising boys with good work ethics.

10. I got all my holiday cards signed, addressed and ready to mail out; I am so thankful for such a wonderful group of friends and a supportive network of extended family.

11. The younger boys and I met up with some friends for an afternoon hike; I am so thankful for the wonderful families we have met through all our homeschooling years.

12.  I am so thankful for my wonderful mother-in- law; she offered to bring Alec home from karate today so I could go run a few errands in peace.

13.  We spent a wonderful afternoon crafting and visiting with my mom.  I am so thankful we get to spend so much time together.

14.  Evan and I had dental cleanings today and we are good for another 6 months!  I am so thankful we have such wonderful dentists and hygenists at our practice that my boys actually look forward to going (and even more thankful we almost always have wonderful, good check ups!).

15. My boys happily took care of the pets of a couple of family members today; I was only required to drive them where they needed to go and they handled everything else.  I am so thankful that my boys are eager to help out when they're needed.

16.  Spent my morning working on some plans for our upcoming Disney trip and I am so thankful that we are able to plan this one "last trip" there with our boys to make (what we hope will be) lots of great family memories.

Our last Disney trip-- 2013

17.  I was just thankful we had no real plans for the day as I was woken up around 2/ 2:30 with awful pains and could not manage to fall back to sleep.

18. My husband left today for a work trip (in North Dakota!).  I am so thankful he landed safely.

19. We were making homemade pizzas and 2-ingredient bagels and I was so thankful for Alec's help. I just love watching him in the kitchen.

20. My husband arrived home and brought me a package of my favorite Dakota pretzels; Dots! He is so sweet and always manages to bring me home something from his work trips.  I am so thankful to have him in my life.

21. We met up with our hiking group to try out a new trail.  We had no ides there would be such pretty views along the way! I am always so thankful for nature's beauty.

22. I had a doctor's appointment today and while I did not enjoy the actual appointment I am so Thankful to have answers!

23. We replaced Evan's flooring all in one day.  It was so much work but we all love how it turned out.  I am so thankful that everyone pitched in to help without complaint.

24.  My husband and boys worked almost all day to help me get the whole house cleaned.  Working together we did a nice deep cleaning and I am so thankful to start my week with one giant chore crossed of my list.

25.  It was sunny and 50 degrees so the younger boys and I went for a walk.  I am always so thankful for warm(ish), sunny days.

 26. I got some new clothes in today that I had ordered and they fit great! I am so thrilled (and thankful!) to be wearing clothes that are two whole sizes smaller than last year.

27.  So thankful that my biopsy results came in before Thanksgiving and that it was benign!

28.  We celebrated Thanksgiving with all our traditional dishes and ended our day watching Elf.  I am so thankful for the traditions we have formed through the years.

29.  Managed to finish up most of Christmas shopping using online sales today and I am so thankful that I do not have to step foot in anymore stores this season unless I want to.

30.  I spent most of my morning getting caught up on blogging and planning for the whole month ahead.  I am so thankful to have found this wonderful blogging community to share snippets of my life and thoughts.
