Driving from Cheyenne to Rapid City
We had no problems finding the highway and enjoyed another day of beautiful scenery; complete with prairie dogs and even some bison!
I just could not get over how flat everything was and just how far we could see!
At one point we lost all cell reception and could only find 2 radio stations to listen to!
The further we drove north the more we started seeing mountains and plateaus.
Other posts from this trip include:
Driving from Denver to Cheyenne
Visiting Mammoth Dig Site & Evan's Plunge
Wildlife Loop Trail at Custer State Park
Driving the Needles Highway through Custer State park
Visiting the Reptile Gardens
Hiking the Strattobowl rim trail twice
Gorgeous! Just stunning. What a wonderful trip!

The scenery was just amazing and nothing like we ever see around here.
DeleteWow, you can see miles and miles! When you live in a city or suburb, it's hard to imagine such wide open space and only 2 radio stations!
ReplyDeleteWe were definitely amazed at the differences; in New England there are so many trees and hills and bends in the road you're often lucky if you can even see your neighbor just a few feet away.. Here they can't see their neighbor because they really do live that far apart from one another!
DeleteBreathtaking views, your photos are amazing too..
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI think Wyoming must be the flatest state!
ReplyDeleteI said something like that too and my husband reminded me that they don't call them the great plains for nothing.
