Encouraging Hearts and Home-- Happy Halloween!

This is the first year in over 15 years that we are not going Trick- or- Treating.  My boys all decided they're beyond those years and asked instead if we could do a movie night and allow them to pick their favorite treats and snacks.  We're showing Hocus Pocus tonight and I hope the boys like it.  What do you have planned? What's Up Wednesday: October Edition

Today I am linking up with Shay and Sheaffer and all their blogging friends to talk about what we've been up to this month.  Are you all ready for Halloween?  This is the first year that none of my boys want to dress up and go Trick or Treating.  My youngest asked if we could just buy him his favorite snacks and watch a movie together so that's what we're going to do! Let's dive right in! What We're Eating This Week:  Sunday: Italian herb marinated chicken with squash casserole and roasted green beans Monday: Pesto pasta with veggies & chicken tenders with salad Tuesday: Hamburger Soup Wednesday: Homemade pizzas with salad Thursday: HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  We're having chicken fajita chili, cornbread and will be eating lots of yummy snacks while watching Hocus Pocus. What My Boys Have Been Reading This Month

With school officially starting this month my boys have been reading more and more.  Evan really has found that he just love graphic novels and he's been willing to branch out and try a few different ones.  So far he's enjoying them all!  Alec has been re-reading lots of his favorite book series and is just devouring books.  Ian is still rather reluctant to read but at least he's willing to humor me and read each day. 1.  Ms. Marvel -- Evan is trying to figure out what order to read this graphic novel series in and figured this must have been book 1.  He read it in just a few days so he must have really enjoyed it. 2.  Tales of the Great Beasts -- Alec was so excited to find this super edition of one of his favorite series- the Sprit Animals.  This book look at the history of 4 of the great beasts and how they came to be. 3.
