Date Night Outfits for Early Fall

My husband and I were heading out for a date over Labor Day weekend and I had a pretty hard time deciding on an outfit.  Here in New England we're already starting to feel that crisp cool air that signifies the start of fall but temperatures can still be pretty warm and sunny during the day.  Our date was starting in the afternoon so I wanted an outfit that could handle both warmish and cool temps.

Here are just a few I debated between:

I found this light-weight sweater at Macy's this summer when I went shopping with my mom.  It's soft and I love the pink color with the little side tie.  Paired with jeans and some flip flops it's that perfect blend of warm and cool.

I love the off the shoulder top I found on Amazon paired with my colored lacy tank and a pair of my favorite JC Penney jeans.  I loved this outfit but thought it might be too warm.  Paired with a colorful scarf this look is perfect for fall!
Off the Shoulder Top/ Jeans
I've had this top for years and I was so glad I hung onto it (and that it if perfectly again!).  The side runches are so flattering and I love all the shiny sequins and jewels around the neck. With the same JC Penny Jeans and these flip flops, I was quite comfy... but really wanted something with more color.

This off the shoulder blouse is one of my favorite purchases from Amazon.  It's cute and stylish and perfect for those in-between fall and spring temps.  I paired it with my favorite Style and Co. Curvy Jeans and a pair of black booties I bought last year; but the black booties are so big my feet are sliding all around and since I wore almost this exact same outfit for our last date night, I decided to try something else.

In case you haven't realized by now I only have two pairs of pants that fit right now!  My JC Penny and my Style and Co. Jeans are the only ones small enough for me to still wear.  It's a good problem to have but we already talked about spending part of our date night at the mall so I can find some more fall clothes.

I also found this shirt on sale at Macy's when I went birthday shopping. Paired with my JC Penney jeans and some new boots this is the outfit I finally settled on!

  2. I definitely read the title and thought this was going to be date night ideas for Fall, but I like this version too! Great choices! I love slouchy, off the shoulder tops- they're so comfortable while still being cute. JC Penney has been killing it with fashion lately- Blue just bought a bunch of jeans and flannel shirts during their Labor Day Sale and now I'm sad I missed out!

    1. Thank you! I don't enjoy shopping for jeans and tend to buy a lot more tops than bottoms but I really do need to and somehow it's not so bad when I'm searching for smaller sizes. ;)

    1. That's ultimately why I chose it too. I just love those ruffled sleeves and know it will be too cold soon to wear them...

  8. An off the shoulder top is definitely a great way to go when it's still a little warmer than 'fall' weather!
