What's Up Wednesday-- July Edition

It's almost August and time for another What's Up Wednesday post.  I don't know about you but I feel like summer is just flying by!

Today I am linking up with Shay and Shafer and all their blogging friends to talk about What's Up.

Let's dive right in!

What We're Eating This Week:

Sunday: Grilled chicken, pasta salad, and salad

Monday: Burgers, turkey burgers, hot dogs with corn on the cob and salad.

Tuesday: Cauliflower Fettuccini alfredo (with zoodles for me!) and salad.

Wednesday: Baked haddock with roasted summer squash and rice.

Thursday: Weight Watcher's American Chop Suey (recipe coming soon!) with salad.

Friday: Grilled chicken tenderloins, green beans, and butternut squash fries.

Saturday: Egg salad BLT sandwiches with fruit salad and salad.

What I'm Reminiscing About:  Our recent weekend away at the Cape/ Nantucket!

What I'm Loving: Now that I've lost so much weight I am loving how ALL my clothes fit!  And best of all most of them are 2 whole sizes smaller.  :)

What We've Been Up To:
We've spent lots of time with family and friends swimming in the lakes, pools, and waterways around us.  We had four birthday parties this month as well as celebrating the 4th of July with the family at the lake.  We had dentist and doctor appointments and I had two fun outings-- a weekend away with my husband and a fun day out shopping with my mom.

Birthday party #4 was my own with a mocha chocolate cake made entirely by Alec

What I'm Dreading: Nothing!  It's summer and we're focusing on fun.

What I'm Working On: I am really hoping to finish off my last 6 scrapbooking pages from 2018 so I can start on 2019's pages.  I already finished up 8 pages this past month so 6 should be easy.

What I'm Excited About: My sister is coming to visit soon!! I can not wait to see her and her boys!

What I'm Watching/ Reading: My husband and I "found" a show to watch together.  We are loving Breaking Bad-- it's such a train wreck I just can not look away!  As well as working my way through Cougar Town and AGT too.

I also watched Breakthrough this month and I don't think I made it through more than 10 minutes at a time without crying.

I just recently started a new book called Dear Bob and Sue and am loving this couple's journey through all the national parks (written as a series of letters to their best friends).  I also read 9 books this month that I reviewed in this post.

What I'm Listening To: Fun "summer-y" music on Pandora with the windows down.

What I'm Wearing:  I've been wearing ALL my new birthday clothes!  Each year for my birthday my mom takes me shopping and we had the best day scouting the sale racks together at JC Penney, Macy's, Dress Barn and we even found a few things at Marshall's too.  I've also been wearing all my latest Amazon purchases that are nice and light and flowy and just perfect for all the warm weather we've been having.

What I'm Doing this Weekend: So far we have no plans but we've been talking an awful lot lately about tubing down a river while the weather is nice and hot (because I know that water is going to be COLD!).

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month: After many long years Alec finally gets his braces off-- tomorrow!  We have another couple of birthdays to celebrate and the boys and I went through writing in some fun things we want to onto our calendar including an amusement park day, a ferry trip, and making tie dyed shirts.

What Else is New: Not much.  We found some new flooring options for the basement and are talking about when we want to tackle that project.

  2. Breaking Bad is sooooo good, I'm excited for you getting into it now! That show had me yelling at the TV at one point, and I don't normally get that engaged. I love your progress, and your style is on point! Seriously, your shirts are amazing, I just saved all of your links. How do you do everything that you do and still manage to read nine books in a month?! I'm in awe!

    1. Aw, thank you! I am loving all my "new" clothes. It's a really neat book; at first I thought I too might want to visit all the national parks but after reading a few of their encounters I'm not so sure but it would be fun to check out most of them.

    1. I love that top but it hasn't been cool enough yet to wear it for more than just dinner out. It is so funny sometimes; Saul cracks me up. We're definitely going to have to watch that (Better Call Saul) next.

    1. Thank you so much! We are having a great summer. Cape Cod is a lot of fun with so much of the area centered around the sea and the beaches there's lots to see and do in the summer.
