Weight Watchers Unsloppy Joes-- 6 points

This Weight Watcher's recipe was inspired by my son's favorite meal; sloppy joes.  He was eating a wrap one day when he suggested we try making sloppy joes in a wrap using ground turkey.  He knew I was not eating buns and only limited amounts of ground beef. He also thought having all the ingredients contained in a wrap would make it easier to eat and less messy.. and boy was he right!

These were delicious and fairly low in points when served with salad and fruit salad.

Ingredients: (Serves 6)

1 lb 99% lean ground turkey
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup bbq sauce
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp mustard
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 cups fat free cheddar cheese
6 Flatout flatbread wraps

First thoroughly cook the ground turkey with the dried onion and garlic in a pan over medium heat.

Once cooked mix in the ketchup, BBQ, brown sugar, mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until mixed through and then let it sit and simmer over low heat while preparing the wraps.

Place 1/4 cup of the fat free cheddar cheese in the center of each of the wraps.

Add 1/6 of the ground turkey mixture right on top of the cheese (I had debated about warming up the wraps and the cheese but we found the turkey was hot enough to do both for us).

Then roll and slice!  It was delicious and my boys could hardly tell we had substituted turkey for the ground beef.

We just loved how well the wrap kept all the ingredients in too; no more mess while trying to eat... hence the name!

    1. They were so good too and I loved that they weren't nearly as messy as traditional sloppy joes.

  2. These really really look good. Although knowing myself, I'd still make a mess... I appreciate the idea as I also am attempting to eat a lot less simple carbs such as seen in those buns.

    1. Yeah, we are tying to cut out some carbs here and there too. I find I am really like wraps in place of rolls. Even for burgers.
