Fire and Ice Festival Sculptures
One of the towns near us hosts a fire and ice festival each February. We have yet to make it to the actual festival but this year we did go see the ice sculptures the next day. It's so neat to see so much detail carved out of ice!
A few of the carvings had lost some details and were showing signs from the power of the sun but thankfully it was cold enough that the sculptures lasted this year.
My boys and I were quite taken with how they looked up close..
This was quite the throne! Complete with swords carved all around it.
This train had slots carved it in that were filled with colored sand art!

There were lots of different colored blocks around the patio that become colored lanterns at night |

I'm imagining what the sand art looks like now :) Wouldn't it be neat to have that much talent!
ReplyDeleteI know; it was amazing!
DeleteThese are so cool!
ReplyDeleteThey really were so neat and we could imagine how much better they must have looked "fresh."
DeleteThese are really neat! Olivia would have loved it because she would have thought that Elsa had been there. ;o)
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I didn't think of that.
DeleteI think I like the sword in the ice stone and the faucet best. They're all incredible and tough to photography I imagine.
ReplyDeleteThey were really tough to photo. But the faucet was my favorite too.
DeleteP.S. You might want to change your Google+ link soon.
ReplyDeleteI figure Google is the one that linked me and they'll revert back to my blog when they do away with Google+.. hopefully!
DeleteNow that is cool!
ReplyDeleteIt really was so neat.
DeleteSo much hard work and imagination!
ReplyDeleteI thought it must be a lot of work too. I'd love to actually see them carve it one time but have yet to brave a cold night to do that.
